Funny thing is, my hearing is worse now, but I hear more of the harmonies now than I ever have before.

Speaking of Barry Manilow songs, "Mandy" was released in #1974 ... but my memory of first hearing it feels like it was a year or two previously.
Original title was "Brandy", but Manilow's release changed the title to avoid confusion with Looking Glass's "Brandy (You're A Fine Girl)".

Throw in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandy_(You%27re_a_Fine_Girl) since the above article references it.

From #1974, Carl Douglas "Kung Fu Fighting" #song #1970s
I don't think someone could make a song like this today. I like the song and always have, but I imagine it would be considered racist today.

Aint' it good, ain't right, that you are with me here tonight? Andy Kim #1974 #song "Rock Me Gently" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTG7G5Nn4-4 )
I was thinking Andy Kim was a one-hit wonder, but Wikipedia pointed out that he had a hit in #1969 with "Baby I Love You" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXpsS3hrZeU ) and that he co-wrote the Archies' "Sugar Sugar" ( ) and sang as a band member on that record.
Andy Kim, the Guess Who, and Burton Cummings have earned their way onto my CD shopping list.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xqMY8UAGgg The Ohio Players -- "Fire" #song from #1974 #1970s
I first heard this song when the kid across the street knocked on the door and played it on his cassette recorder (his was a two-child family, so they could have things like that), saying "You've got to hear this. It's gonna be a hit!" He was right, and the last time I heard from TTT, he was working at a radio station as on-air talent.

Was this really #1974? So far away, and yet so near. My family had this on 8-track tape. To my recollection, this is the only song on the tape that I listened to.

Listening to Shirley and Company ‘s #1974 hit #song https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YEzQV75LDL0 “Shame, Shame, Shame” #1970s
A woman at work was happy that a project she’s been working on got fully funded after months of delays, so she started dancing. She came into physical contact with me as she was “shaking her rump” and feared that I might file sexual harassment charges. I had to reassure her that no offense was taken.
