#sonTwo took me and #GS3 to a barbershop 💈. I think they did a great job.
Afterwards we got lunch at a local burger 🍔 joint. The radio station played #1980s music, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17lkdqoLt44 .
Great day.

Someone explained it this way.
In the #1980s, there were fat tire bicycles called beach cruisers. If you tried to ride them on the beach, their heavy frames and wide but not wide enough tires would cause them to sink into loose sand.
Supposedly the modern fat bikes have tires wide enough to remain on top of the sand, which makes them easier to ride.
I have not seen one, and I have not been to a beach, so I can't say whether they work.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsetse_fly is another disease vector ( see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trypanosomiasis and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trypanosomatida ) that I would be happy to see extinguished. Add https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandfly ( see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leishmaniasis ) to the list.
And based on an experience in the #SoCal mountains in the #1980s, I'd be glad to see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer_fly wiped out as well. ( I killed over 100 of them one day, as they swarmed our campsite, biting us. ) I believe these are the ones. In person, they are sort of yellowish and very hungry for blood.

“Earth people, please come in. I am not alien.”
Leon Patilo #1984 #song “Love Calling” #1980s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vap0InBD4Ik
I don’t think I’ve seen the video since 1984 … and even then, I’m not sure I saw it. I do remember his space alien outfit.
Then again, one of the Los Angeles TV stations used to have a Christian videos program one night per week.

I’m sure Agatha, Agnes, Germaine, and Jack will miss this song.

I was barely listening to music during this time period, so most of my memories of this song are much later. However, it has been playing in my head for two days ( occasionally followed by Funkadelic's #1978 hit "One Nation Under the Groove" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmjUvgdzimo #1970s ).

I do like most of their songs ( #KRTH now plays #1970s, #1980s, #1990s in place of their former #1950s, #1960s, and early 1970s music ).
I have noticed in the last few years that a lot of it no longer evokes the same strong emotions that it once did.

One of my brothers said that #KRTH changed its oldies format some time ago, away from “real oldies”. I like a lot of the #1980s music also, so I could still listen if I had the inclination.
I think I remember hearing songs by Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Human League while I was doing my laundry. There were a small number of songs that I did not recall hearing before, but there was a point in the 1980s and #1990s that I was so busy working and taking classes that I barely heard radio at all, so they could still be from the 1980s time period.

#Song from #1985, Wham sings “I’m Your Man” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6W0d9xMhZbo #1980s

Last night after work, I stopped to do laundry. The laundromat had a radio playing. #KRTH-101 used to be oldies from the late #1950s through the #1960s to the early #1970s (since they changed to that format around 1974), so I was very surprised when everything I heard appeared to be from the late 1970s through the #1980s to early #1990s.
I liked the music, but it wasn't the K-Earth I used to listen to. It felt like the old K-Earth was lost.

I did take a #COBOL class in the #1980s, but I don't believe that would qualify me for anything.

When Moon Zappa’s song “Valley Girl” was popular, someone I knew moved to MN for work. They soon returned to SoCal, because everyone in the town where they moved expected them to talk in ValSpeak (and had some other misconceptions about Californians that the person I knew did not fit).
