Back in my networking classes in the 1990s, they told us that odd numbered versions of the IP protocol are experimental, while even numbered versions are deployed / deployable. #IPv4 vs #IPv6

!FNetworks notice: since #IPv6 is broken upstream of our hosting, I removed AAAA records. Should be no issues resulting, but any DNS change can cause some temporary problems.

I had a new experience a few days ago. For the first time, I had an #IPv6 only connection. No #IPv4 at all, and the laptop isn't set up for 4-in-6 tunnelling. If I had thought about it, I would have launched my VPN, to see how well it handles that situation.
That's a signal that any software that connects to networks needs to be capable of handling such connections now. It isn't just a "one day this will happen" anymore.

@moonman I wonder if there are still any free #IPv6 in #IPv4 tunnels out there. I'm pretty sure SIXXS is shut down.
Such a tunnel might be a way to get IPv6 back for your instance.

Yes. I had rented a cheap #VPS which only had an #IPv6 address. I wound up swapping it with one of my sons, who had a VPS with only an #IPv4 address.

@markov That group could be reached over #IPv6 at one time, but now it is gone. Could the instance hosting the group have gotten downwind of your #BOTulenza? #Bot_gas can be pretty toxic.
