#SoCal: A police officer from #Orange_County's City of #Santa_Ana pleads guilty to taking bribes from organized crime figure.
This is something you'd expect from police in the Northeast or Great Lakes states, not #California.

#Orange_County: Blue Ridge Fire grows tenfold overnight, now at 8,000 acres, evacuations ordered in Yorba Linda and Brea, and across the #San_Bernardino county line in Chino Hills. By the way, most of #SoCal is under a major heat alert, including #Orange_County, the mountains and valleys of #San_Diego County, Imperial and Coachella Valleys and #Imperial_County, Santa Ana mountains, San Bernardino Mountains, San Gorgonio mountains, other mountains, valleys, deserts of the #Inland_Empire ( #Riverside_County and #San_Bernardino County ), high, intermediate, and low deserts.
Some places may see temperatures up to 116F (which is the hottest I’ve ever known it to get ... for a few days 15-20 years back). If you’re in SoCal, take precautions. I haven’t checked the news, but if beaches are open, I’d expect them to be ultra-crowded.

Things are always a little different behind the Orange curtain. #Orange_County is (or at least was) a Republican stronghold in #California.

Due to !SoCal rainfall, #NOAA / #NWS issued an areal flood advisory for SW #San_Bernardino County, W #Riverside County, and most of #Orange_County. Rainfall rates of 0.25 inch / hour, with some local areas higher. Expect urban and small stream flooding. The flash flood watch for these areas plus #San_Diego County continues.

The Los Angeles Times recently had an article about the potential devastation should Whittier Narrows Dam fail. I think they should follow up by looking at the Prado Dam in the Chino area, just because they have been near the point of mandatory evacuations a few times.
WND has the greatest potential impact in terms of lives lost, because it holds both the Rio Hondo and San Gabriel rivers, but PD could surprise everyone that thought the !SoCal #Inland_Empire and #Orange_County areas were safer.

#NOAA / #NWS Flash flood warning in !SoCal for the mountains and valleys of #Orange_County and the Inland Empire ( #San_Bernardino_County and #Riverside_County ) from now until tomorrow evening. From the map, it looks like the High Desert and most of the Low Desert are not included in this warning.

@sulman The #LATimes, in typical fashion, ignores the outlying cities and counties. Aggressive police harassment in #Los_Angeles (both city and county) at one point caused homeless people to flee to other !SoCal areas, such as #Orange_County and the #Inland_Empire. The now-closed Fontana rest area along #I-10 used to be filled every night with car-dwellers.
