@clacke I remember DDR. Both #sonOne and #sonTwo liked to shame me in that game. Neither one was very good, but I was even worse.
-
#sonTwo didn't say where it was, but he got to drive through snowfall while returning home yesterday. And this time, he didn't mention getting stuck in Atlanta traffic, so I assume he went another way.
-
#sonTwo (2nd son) got to experience #Atlanta morning rush hour traffic today. He was quite shaken. He says it added hours to his trip.
He says he'd rather walk in Death Valley.
Later on, a #GA sheriff's deputy pulled him over, talked with him, and suggested rest and a Red Bull before continuing his trip.

Someone that I and #sonTwo knew twenty to twenty-five years ago recently passed. My son kept in contact at least a decade longer.
RIP "G"

I've been talking with #sonTwo and #Daddy_A about getting a 1 year subscription to https://www.crunchlabs.com/ for #GS3 and #A1. For the soon-to-be 4 year old, I think we should get the kits and set them aside along with instructions and downloaded videos, so he will have them in 2027 even if the program is no longer in operation. For the soon-to-be 10 year old, I wish I had known about this when he was 8.

#sonTwo told me that the other grandparents aren't reading or playing with the kids. They sit them in front of the #TV and let it hypnotize kids so they won't have to deal with them.
Well, if that's what you're doing, put the grandkids and their mother on a plane and send them home.

#sonTwo took his wife and kids to her parents' house because one of her family is ill and expected to pass soon.
-
The family photos we took when I was at #sonTwo's house have come back. This photographer did a much better job of getting the kids' attention than their previous photographer did. There are pictures where both #GS3 and #GS4 are smiling and looking toward the camera at the same time.

#sonTwo informs me that they celebrated their holidays early, as his wife and kids will be going to her parents' home for the holidays. He's got to work, so he'll be home. #GS3 got his favorite "Gup" https://nu.federati.net/url/288815 and keeps it with him all the time. (He has to, or #GS4 will try to take it.)

Speaking of losing your faculties as you get older, I used to be able to drop into the original time I heard a song and re-experience it again ... and same with conversations. It wasn't FOREVER, but up to a few years.
I even used that ability when #sonTwo and #Daddy_A were teens. They'd be talking and I wasn't listening at all. Then one of them would say a word that piqued my interest, so I'd re-hear part of their conversation ... this time paying attention.
But this ability is gone now.

Had a #videochat with #GS3 and #GS4. During the chat, the 3.5 year old carried the phone around the house and found a missing steak knife on the floor underneath something. I sent #sonTwo a text message telling him to ask his son where the knife is.
The 1.5 year old asked me to pick him up. His word for that is "down".

I got a little bit of good news today. #Daddy_A and his wife have been struggling to pay their bills as theyβve faced repeated hospitalizations. He had informed me that they were probably going to have to move (the house they rent came with a really nice deal) into a much smaller place.
Today he said they are staying put. At least one more month.
(One thing he did not express is whether any jobs were lost. But I already knew from #sonTwo that my half-son had already lost his job.)

There's a lot that I disagree with the Republicans about, but I will always and forever support the charter school concept, even if some such schools should be closed.
Both #sonTwo and #Daddy_A attended charter schools after their public schools were unresponsive to our requests to meet their needs. At the time, I was making very little money, so paying for a private school was out of reach.
Charter schools take from the giant pot of money that our public schools use, but they are schools that parents can choose to apply to send their kids to, or choose to move their kids back to public schools. School choice takes the power away from educrats and gives it back to parents, where it belongs.

Irene Cara ("FAME" and "Flashdance"), #RIP https://www.tmz.com/2022/11/26/irene-cara-dead-dies-flashdance-fame/ [www tmz com]
I didn't see either movie, but I did watch the "FAME" TV show for a couple of seasons.
Also, Jason David Frank (Tommy the Green Ranger, then and later the White Ranger in the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers show), #RIP https://www.tmz.com/2022/11/20/power-rangers-jason-david-frank-dead-dies-tommy-oliver-green-white/ [www tmz com]
I watched the various #Power_Rangers series with #sonTwo and his friends and with some of my nephews up to and including Power Rangers in Space.

I hadn't heard from #Daddy_A for a while and neither had #sonTwo. He informed us that they are experiencing severe financial challenges, apparently as a result of a series of hospitalizations.
No one has extra resources to send, so we're unable to assist.
-
I let #GS3 stay up late, so he could see his daddy before bed. (Work schedules are really screwy right now; he's working one full-time job and two part-time jobs.) #sonTwo put him to bed about 45 minutes past his normal bedtime.
#GS4's bedtime is earlier, but he wound up going to bed more than an hour late. Both boys (ages 3.5 and 1.5 years) were crying for 30-45 minutes, trying to fight sleep.
I'm going to miss these little guys, even though I'm looking forward to a rest.
-
When I told #sonTwo and his wife about it, they both laughed and admitted that they could easily have done the same thing.

#sonTwo took me and #GS3 to a barbershop π. I think they did a great job.
Afterwards we got lunch at a local burger π joint. The radio station played #1980s music, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17lkdqoLt44 .
Great day.

#sonTwo bought the kids the same brand and flavors of #yogurt that I have. Previously, they'd been buying the brand and flavors that the kids had always favored. But now, the kids want to eat grandpa's yogurt, not their (former) favorite.

#sonTwo is watching "The Watcher". Apparently, this creepy story is based on a real family's experiences. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/netflix-the-watcher-based-on-a-true-story-westfield-nj-house/ [www cbsnews com]
