No, it isn't "toxic masculinity". It's that they've spent their lives working and sacrificing to keep a roof over their families' heads and food on the table, ignoring their own needs. In many cases, their family members don't even care. They just demand more.
.
(Note: Just by the OP's wording, I know they don't really care and would not accept this insight, though it is responsive to their question.)

“... you do not have the freedom to force other people to provide service for you”
I’m going to assume that is a theoretical “you”, not a personal one, as I am neither a {right|left} winger, nor a racial supremacist, and I’ve mostly self-hosted my Fediverse presence since at least 2011.

Bad thing about hyperboria style connections is that you would have to know someone here in order to join. I've been in the fediverse since 2009, but I didn't start out knowing anyone. #subpost

Well, you don't necessarily know when someone subposts you, so "never" is probably inaccurate. #subpost :-)

The company that had been where my "dream job" would have been is out of business. More importantly, they had lost their dreamy qualities 25-30 years ago, before I ever got to work for them.
.
I learned to flourish in the non-dreamy atmosphere of the employers I got. Trying to wait for perfection is just going to make it more painful when reality slaps you in the face.
