No mask requirement is okay if you have people sensible enough to engage in protective behaviors without being told (and managers at various employers that allow employees to use protective behaviors also).
When people are out protesting about mandating protective behaviors while people working in meat packing plants are battling outbreaks of #COVID-19 because they work shoulder-to-shoulder, I'd like to ask them if they would volunteer to switch places.

Someone asked me whether I think hand-washing changes would be permanent. Answer: I doubt it. People who endangered the health of themselves and others by not washing their hands before the #COVID-19 outbreak are not generally going to suddenly and permanently be aware of the possibility of sickening someone.
If they briefly changed their behaviors, one might expect it to stick, but I sincerely wonder how many of those folks are handwashing when no one else is in the facilities.
(One place I worked, I estimated that 60% of men did not even pretend to wash their hands, and another 20% pretended to do so, but did not actually wash. Based solely on sounds ... if you drink a lot of coffee, you become a frequent visitor to the men's room and you learn what handwashing sounds like.)

Mechanic said my mom's car is not being driven enough (thanks, #COVID-19, for the gift of shutdowns and quarantines), so today I'm doing the outlet malls tour without stopping.
Ontario Mills, Barstow Outlets (was Factory Merchants Outlet Mall), Outlets at Barstow (was Tanger Outlet Center). The last two are across the street from each other, and were once considered the largest in the country until OntMills opened. I should have gone to Victoria Gardens when I was in the Ontario & Rancho Cucamonga area.

Due to #COVID-19 and related shutdowns, #Hawaii facing 34% unemployment rate. https://nu.federati.net/url/269178 [www usatoday com]
Like the disease expert from Minnesota said, we haven’t yet thought about how we’ll proceed after the shutdowns in a steady state until the spread of the disease drops off.
I should check the rate for Imperial County, California. They normally have the worst unemployment rate of any county in the US ... I think it was around 34% when I worked there several years ago.

Looking at https://nu.federati.net/url/269073 it looks like the growth in *confirmed* cases of #COVID-19 is slowing and may even be declining in all four countries. Right now, I'm looking at #Germany, #Italy, #UK, #US. I know I could turn of exponential to get a better look at the numbers. But:
(1) numbers are not per unit of population, which can make large countries look worse, even if they are doing a better job overall; and
(2) In the US, at least, tests still seem to be limited; people who do not have enough symptoms out of a list may be refused the test. What this means is that there could be many more people who are or were infected that are not included in the numbers because they were never tested.
Also: I think Germany's #2019-nCoV mortality rate is substantially lower than the other three nations' rates. As far as I know, DE is not quietly burning bodies or digging mass graves, so I'm assuming they are doing something right that the other three nations listed are not.

My nephew has been off work a while because his $EMPLOYER has had some employees in that location with #COVID-19. They have mandatory distancing, although they cannot meet their production targets if they follow the distancing.

Random #COVID-19 tests ... showing up at someone’s door (with proper identification) and offering free testing. This is how we get a real idea how widespread #coronavirus infections are.
