I saw a headline earlier with the BK word and Coinbase in the same sentence, but hadn't stopped to read it.
I'm sure @guizzy@pleroma@guizzyordi.info can give the exact wording, but there's a saying in the cryptocurrency world that if your coins & tokens are not held in an offline wallet that only you control, they are not really yours.
The point of cryptocurrency is about weakening the power of the intermediaries who currently choose the winners and losers. One cannot do that while simultaneously leaving one's holdings in the custody of yet another intermediary.
We should think of exchanges as places for money in transit, not as places for money at rest. Western Union, not Bank of America.
That said, it is alarming that the word bankruptcy is being bandied around and as far as I know, their customers have not been warned of the danger.
I will inform both #sonTwo and #Daddy_A, in case either of them has an account and left some currency in the account.

While I was here, I bought a rice cooker that also serves as a slow cooker. I shipped it to #Daddy_A, because this assignment is nearing its end.

#NOAA / #NWS issuing #tornado and severe #t-storm warnings for SE #NE and SW #IA and central #KS. If you're in #Nebraska or #Iowa or #Kansas, be sure your phone has weather alerts turned on and buy a weather alert radio.
I did talk to #Daddy_A and Mike/Ami/Jade tonight and informed them that severe weather is heading their way. These were regularly scheduled calls, but I was able to talk about the weather (and about the Brooklyn subway shooting).
Colby is also in that area, but I do not have a regularly scheduled call with him.

Gave #sonOne and #sonTwo my shopping list for whenever I'm able to visit. I don't expect to have more than one day with #Daddy_A unless he's able to meet at a central location.

#sonTwo told me that "Mom" bought #GS3 some clothes. I passed on the opportunity to inquire, but I do wonder whether he means that he's communicating with his biomom or he's referring to #Daddy_A's mom (he called them both "Mom" during childhood).
There were some years of radio silence, so if they've ended, that's a good thing.

I saw character pajamas on sale, so I'm pacing around the children's clothing section waiting for #Daddy_A to tell me what size #A3 wears. He's already given me her brothers's sizes.

@geniusmusing It does. Especially since #Daddy_A had phone problems, so he never replied and didn't get into a videochat either. And #sonOne was working.

When #faveNephew was about 14, the TV news said "Your teen is texting pictures of their private parts to other people. This is called 'sexting'."
I was in Ohio, but I called him immediately and said "If I ever hear that you did that, I'm going to beat your butt". The same conversation was had with #sonTwo and #Daddy_A.
I do note that I did not call any of my other nephews to tell them that. I called the one that I knew would listen to me.
Still, I wonder whether other parents and adult family members were doing their jobs when their child was young enough to listen whenever I see a 20-something post exactly that kind of content.

After about 24K steps yesterday, and 13K steps today, both of us are tired and sore. I’m heading to another part of #NYState tomorrow, while he’s heading home.
I had a really good time. I think it was 3 years since I saw #sonOne last, and close to 5 years since I visited his home ( #GD2 was 5-6; now she’s 10 ). We’re planning for me to visit, followed by a visit to #sonTwo and a possible one-day trip to see #Daddy_A.

This discussion sort of got started because someone sent 64GiB of RAM to #Daddy_A, so he could use his computer for his new temp-to-hire job.

#Daddy_A got a phone for nine year old #A1. I sent the lad a photo from the office window at work, but he did not respond. I will try to call him Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, cousin #GD2 reports that her phone doesn't take a charge any more. I planned to call her also, but it will have to wait until #sonOne replaces her phone.

#sonTwo reports that his wife and #GS3 are sick. #GS4 was sick a few days ago, but has recovered.
Meanwhile, #Daddy_A reports that the stress of his wife's recent hospitalization aggravated one of his medical problems, and that the doctor is considering which medication to put him on ... for the rest of his life.

Got to talk with #Daddy_A and #A1 for about half an hour today.

#Daddy_A lost 20% of his bodyweight due to recent chemo. He had that much surplus weight and more so he's not so concerned about it. But suddenly, his face isn't so round anymore and the 30-something no longer looks 12.

Good point. I should ask my half-son #Daddy_A whether his Bitcoin mining rig reduced his heating costs this Winter.
I don't even know if he's still mining. He hasn't sent me a screenshot of his score in a while.

Trying to arrange a #videochat with #Daddy_A and family … kids birthdays are coming up and I want to get some ideas direct from the kids themselves with enough advance notice that when the gift arrives, they’ll just think I guessed correctly.

#Daddy_A is so happy with his new body that he took a shirtless photo, something he hasn't done since childhood. He told me about it, but he didn't send it to me. I guess he's still got a way to go before he's able to feel comfortable showing it to people.
Also, the family member with a recent medical issue is out of the hospital and recovering at home.
