Heard from #Daddy_A. The #2DS has arrived.

Got a text message from #lazyNephew, who hasn't initiated SMS conversation since 2017-06-05. "... could you possibly spare 150 bucks? ..."
I'm not going to respond, but if I had an extra $150, I'd put it aside until I had a little over $300, then send a Nintendo #Switch to #sonTwo or #Daddy_A.

#Daddy_A is getting excited already about the #2DS, even though it won't arrive until at least Friday (2017-10-13). Hopefully, he won't tell #Little_Boy_A about it until arrival, so he isn't disappointed if tomorrow's holiday delays its arrival.

#Daddy_A and his 4 year old #Little_Boy_A will enjoy their #2DS. I didn't save as much with pre-owned as expected. But ever since the kid told me how much he wanted one, I've been walking into the electronics section every time I go into a store.

@alpacaherder @nds A little tired and headachy. Surprising how two weeks away from work is repeatedly invaded by work-related stuff. But at least I got to spend a few hours with #Daddy_A and family.

#Baby_A3 was asleep during most of the visit. (She's about three weeks old.) I did get to hold her and to look into her eyes for a few minutes. But then came diaper and bottle time, so I passed her back to #Daddy_A and #Mama_A.

His brother ( #Baby_A2 ) seems to have caught a cold or something. He's just at the beginning of it, so he didn't want to meet anyone new (neither me nor his aunt). He watched me intently, even smiling at one point, but he never let me come within 2 feet.
#Daddy_A kept telling him that I'm the one that sent him the book he likes. We're planning to try to do a monthly videochat, so that I won't be "new" next time he sees me.

#Little_Boy_A came over and sat with me after dinner. We watched a few minutes of one of the "Toy Story" movies, then he brought his "Captain Underpants" book for me to read. #Daddy_A suggested we watch the movie instead. After the movie, the four year old talked with me about about videogame consoles ( #Nintendo #Switch ) and handhelds ( #3DS, #2DS ).

Coincidentally, #Daddy_A is coming through #SoCal this afternoon. Going to have dinner together, so I can actually meet #Baby_A2 and #Baby_A3 (plus, #Little_Boy_A claims he remembers me, but his face says differently).

Looking at the PHX area, peak temperatures will remain in the high 90s (F) through at least Thursday. I'm just glad it is finally below 100. Maybe #Daddy_A and #Mama_A can take the kids outside a little bit.

The comment about the library-sponsored 5K run reminds me of the school where #sonTwo and #Daddy_A attended middle and high school. Their students tended to be heavier than the students at other schools in the area, to the point where most kids had food nicknames ("Beans" "Bacon" "Pepperjack" "Cottage Cheese" etc) ... one year, they had a yearlong thing to train students to run in a marathon. (Mine did not participate after I said it was too far a distance in too short of a preparation time.)

Update: printer went to #sonTwo's wife, monitor and a generic smartwatch went to #Daddy_A.

#Baby_A3 is born about one week past #Baby_A2's first birthday. At this rate, #Daddy_A will have his own basketball team in two years.

How do you pass out when your third child is born when you never have for the others?
We have a new little girl ( #Baby_A3 ) in the family. #Daddy_A is still pretty shaken, so normal info like name, length, weight haven't come across yet.

At #Daddy_A's place in #AZ, it is currently 106°F at 17:00. 78°F in Jefferson City, #MO ( #JCMO ) at 19:00; 75°F in #Baton_Rouge, #LA at 19:00; and 98°F at 17:00 in my #SoCal hometown. At #sonOne's old place in #KS, it is 75°F at 19:00; and at #sonTwo's old place in #FL, it is 89°F at 20:00.

Report from #AZ says that #Baby_A2 loves his new toy, so that one was a hit. No mention of #Little_Boy_A's toy, nor of #Daddy_A's generic smartwatch, so I guess those were misses.

Reminded #sonTwo to call #Daddy_A for #Baby_A2's birthday. Still at the office, two hours away from the #hotel, cabling the building for an expansion.

No-spend Saturday wound up costing me > $100 so far. But I got some neat stuff for #Daddy_A and #Baby_A2. I'm not going to try to ship it to arrive on or before the little one's birthday, because I still plan to get something for the older brother, #Little_Boy_A.
