My bedroom is 59F / 15C, 19% humidity. It’s 40F / 4C, 41% outside. This is a lot warmer than places like #CO, #WY, #MI; without being too hot, like #FL and #PR. -

I ran into someone from #FL, who used to come to #PR as a child to visit relatives. He told me that his uncles used to always complain about the shoddiness of the infrastructure here. He specifically mentioned electric cables hanging low enough that people could grab onto them.
That surprised me, because I see that frequently, but I thought it was just because they re-attached everything in a rush. -

At first, I thought about stopping at Pollo Tropical, but I was not impressed last time I was there (and neither was #sonTwo when he went to some of their #FL locations). Maybe it is time that #PR gets some #SoCal food places: #In-N-Out Burger, #Del_Taco, #El_Pollo_Loco -

K contacted me to tell me that one of $EMPLOYER's offices in #FL released all their Black employees from their assignments this week, but no one else. I don't have any contacts there, so I cannot confirm.
Sad to hear it, though, because this is a federal agency that we're working for. I hadn't encountered much racism inside the agency before I came to #PR, but now that I've experienced it myself, I'm getting alerts from people all over the country. -

#sonTwo is already not thrilled with his new job in #MO. Not enough autonomy and about half what he was paid in #FL. There's another company across town that does the same thing, but pays better, and he hopes he'll have some creative freedom. -

Mentioned to #sonTwo that I had a shot at a few months' work in #FL and he said "I spent eight years in Florida and you never visited even once. As soon as I leave you want to go there?"
I have one to three weeks to express interest. I'll talk to K about it. He worked in that office for a while. It can't be worse than working in #PR. -

Next, they get to figure out how they get there from #FL, and figure out where they'll stay for the next few months. And they have 2-3 weeks to do all this. -

#sonTwo just reminded me that when he left #SoCal to attend college in #FL, he flew on July 3rd, stayed in a hotel for 2-3 nights, and then moved into his dormitory. I was out of town, so I already hadn't seen him for a while. It would be years before I saw him again. -
