The stars are from a green laser, so it needs to be up above eye level. This is especially true if there are little ones around, because they are fascinated by the lights and will place their faces right up in front of it.
In our case, the device has a button to turn off the "stars", so I did that. But then someone had to watch, because 3.5 year old #GS3 knows how to turn them back on and 1.5 year old #GS4 quickly heads for the device.
the device got moved to a high shelf, so they can no longer place their vision in danger.

#GS5 seems to have decided that he’s a “hold me all the time” baby, not a “put me down, I’ll call you when I want you” baby. This cuts deeply into #GS4’s “pick me up” time. There’s some adjustment needed for the 1.5 year old, and I expect he’ll resist it at first.

#GS3, #GS4, and #GS5 are asleep, but Hamilton continues. I seem to recall buying some historian’s book about Alexander Hamilton, along with both the Federalist Papers and the Anti-Federalist Papers. I think I bought two copies each (one sent home and one sent to #sonTwo, so should be here somewhere).
If I can find them, I think I’ll try to read some portion of those books.

After today’s outside playtime, I put #GS4 in the tub while #sonTwo bought take out from the wing place. The newly clean child was soon covered from forehead to knees with barbecue sauce.
It only took a couple of minutes to clean him up, but the speed with which he got dirty reminded me of “Pig Pen” from the old Peanuts comic strip.

The boys ( #GS3 and #GS4 ) have met their new baby brother, #GS5, and are swarming him. The 3.5 year old asked what to feed him, cheeseburgers or macaroni and cheese.
Mother and baby tested free of COVID-19 and baby has a few days of antibiotics because of his brothers' recent illness.

Time for: Creature Report

3.5 year old #GS4 really likes these, but I'm not sure he's learning anything about orcas.

I wish to nominate #GS4 for an Academy Award. He can replace Leonardo diCaprio on the list of acting stars.
He was running and slipped. He started crying. I went over and picked him up. He stopped crying, went back to that spot, laid down and started crying again.
He’s only 1.5 years old, but he knows how to work the emotions … tears 😭 , smiles 😃 😊 , laughs 😆 😂 , deep emotional rage 😡 😤 . And he does it all while speaking mostly Martian with a little English mixed in.

Toward the end of the day, #GS4 started feeling better. He started getting up and running around, getting into things he shouldn’t, and being less clingy. He’s still not fully back to his normal self, but it is great to see how much he’s recovered. He did not eat like himself yet, but I expect it within a day or two.

#GS3 noticed acne scars on my chest and shoulder. Now he touches the scars on my upper arms if my sleeves are too short to cover them.
He’s feeling a lot better, and is on a ten day course of antibiotics.
#GS4 is better, but still not feeling well. As a result, he is much more clingy than usual. No “let me go get into things” right now. He is also on antibiotics, as well as ibuprofen.
Still no idea where they got exposed to Streptococcus group A. None of the adults have symptoms congruent with the disease 🦠.
Everyone is sleep deprived right now.
-
#GS4 is having a rough time. Lacking sleep, wanting to be held, unable to verbalize what he feels.
He's on ibuprofen, plus an antibiotic.
#GS3 feels much better, and his appetite shows it. We're probably going out to the backyard for a while.

Update: the doctor said #GS4 has strep throat. But no one has gone anywhere (except for #sonTwo going to work) for a couple of weeks, so where would he get exposed?
-
Now the 1.5 year old is running a fever. 100⁰F. He's on his way to the medical office. #sonTwo came rushing in, unloaded his work stuff, loaded up #GS4 and headed for the urgent care center.
Hopefully, they aren't overloaded. I remember sitting in an emergency room for five hours with a sick baby once.
-
1.5 year old #GS4 cannot understand why we keep separating him from his brother. Every time I look away, he goes back into the bedroom to try and make his older brother play with him. He has never been sick 🤒, so this would be a really rough experience for him.
I’m pretty sure this is an Omicron subvariant of #COVID-19, which seems to be extremely contagious, but much less severe. Their doctor said that small children typically don’t need much care, so focus on hydration and fever control. Also, that it is likely that everyone in the house will be infected before this passes.

Watching Blue’s Clues with #GS3 and #GS4. They don’t realize that I watched this with their dad and his cousins and friends. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfw1U2DgMyw

Ah, #naptime. Today, the boys were both still tired from yesterday. #GS3 still tried to evade naptime, #GS4 was struggling to keep his eyes open.
-
#GS4 got hot, so I put my hat on him. He was quick to take it off. But when he saw a tree, he ran over and got in the shade. Even at 1.5 years old, he knows that much.
#GS3 soon joined him.
A tractor pulled a flatbed trailer through a course of hay bales. Two years ago, the older child was thrilled to see tractors, but today he got on the trailer and ignored the tractor entirely.

Second hole 🕳 is finished. Plants 🪴 are in the ground. Boys are checked for ticks, fed, and asleep.
3.5 years old #GS3 hardly leaves my side. His favorite words seem to be “Grandpa, look what I found”. He’s probably introduced me to every flower 🌸 and insect 🐞 in the yard.
1.5 years old #GS4 wants to spend a few minutes at a time, then go get into something, then come back. That kid has a “light up the world “ smile 😃 and he loves to show it. But he’s also adamant that he should be allowed to throw rocks toward the window, touch the stove / oven, sprinkle the dog 🐕 with milk, go with Daddy to work. He makes sure his displeasure is heard.

We are outside, drawing pirate islands with buried treasure and wurricanes heading their way. Well, #GS3 is drawing. #GS4 is walking across the drawings, oblivious to their importance.
-
This morning, #GS4 avoided me for an hour, until he was ready. Then he brought me a Dr Seuess book to read and now we're okay.
#GS3 is excited, telling me "Let's get your stuff out of your suitcase!", bit I am not in a rush.
-
Tonight, if #GS4 is still awake, he meets "ganpa".
