I need to actually set up an #IPsec #VPN (using IKEv2) ... I work with VPNs all the time, but the actual server end is handled by HQ-IT ... they'd never even think of giving access to field IT.
The idea here is that you can easily connect an Azure subnet to your on-premises network, so your cloud migration needn't be all at once. My impression is that IPsec is a little fiddly to set up, but reliable once you get it working.

Thinking about https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GBXMBQF and I realize why I no longer take a travel router with me when I go somewhere: There aren't many places that give you an Ethernet port any more. They're all Wi-Fi.
A good idea would be a Wi-Fi intermediary that you connect to the #hotel_wi-fi and it presents as a single device ... but you can connect multiple devices behind it. And yes, building in #Tor, #I2P, #OpenVPN, #WireGuard, #IPSec endpoints that could be used to prevent the hotel's network and its users from spying on your traffic would be great.
I think I'll go back to carrying a Wi-Fi hotspot when I travel. (I do occasionally use my phone as a hotspot, but battery life is not good when the hotspot is running.)
