Looking at #NOAA / #NWS / #NHC / #CPHC images of #Hurricane Lane. The center was 150 miles off the big island about three hours ago. News reports say some places have received 24" of rain. -

Someone at work said they went to the store (here in #PR) and saw people buying up food and water. Even though #Hurricane #Beryl is expected to be a weakened #TropStorm and to pass to the South of the island ( see https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at2+shtml/113837.shtml?cone#contents ), they remember Maria's impact (as they should; according to a recent check at status.pr, 1/20 of the island is still without power).
I may catch an Uber to Walmart to see whether they have some water purification kits in the camping section. I go to the local supermarkets and drug stores frequently enough to know they do not have such kits.
