Earlier I was in a discussion where we talked about instant and eat out food being the food of this time. Now, I've got long-grain brown rice in the ricemaker, a pot of pinto beans boiling on the stove, and some sort of instant "Mexican beans and rice" thing going in a saucepan. I'll save frying up chicken drumsticks and cod fillets for my usual day off Sunday.

@patrickme I have not tried those yet. I thought about getting one, but I'd rather wait until I go home (shipping from #PR to #SoCal would not be worthwhile).
