@kai You've been wrestling with that sound issue for months. You weren't going to suddenly think of moving that sound card to the Dell. This is the only way you were going to fix it. -

@lnxw48a1 after I realized that even the new PCI Express sound card had the same issues, I realized the problem was my mainboard, but I didn't want to return the PCI Express sound card because I know PCI is basically dead and I would be re-buying the PCI Express card eventually.
And I'm apparently too proud to have a refurbished Dell as my main machine.
Basically, my bonus paid for this. I'll call it a wash.
