Latest is that $EMPLOYER expects the #Missouri operation to wrap in December, but with a steep staff cut at the end of this month. #Tennessee just wrapped. #Georgia pulled K from #TN. #Nevada tried to pull some people from #MO, but was denied. And they're still only offering starting pay of $12-16/hour (with almost zero chance of raises in the next few years) and wondering why we can't staff our agency sufficiently.

@alpacaherder Rumor has it 300 employees quit in the last six weeks.

@alpacaherder Yes. True. A few years back, $EMPLOYER dropped 150-180 of our field IT staff (mostly older & higher paid, of course) on a whim. They've been complaining about being understaffed almost ever since.

@alpacaherder The terms of the proposed repayment of salary overpayment seemed a little rough for something the agency itself did without any input from me. Not as draconian as they could have been, but certainly placing the blame (and interest and penalties and effects on consumer credit) on the wrong party.
