   During last night’s videochat, #GS3 (age 1 year) said something that sounded almost like ‘grandpa’. He’s on track to switch from babbling to English at a younger age than his cousins.

     Which may or may not happen. Each child is on his or her own schedule. He hasn’t even started speaking Martian yet (one of my nieces spoke what sounded like a complete language, but very different from the language of her parents; then she switched to English a little later).
