Bumped one of my feet against something recently (same foot that I whacked pretty hard against a piece of sidewalk when I was working in Puerto Rico). Two toes and the ball of my foot are sore, three toes are partially numb. (It was worse in #PR, because it hurt more and my foot was swollen for a long while after.)

Having lived through this already, I know the routine. The pain goes away. The numbness lingers for a while. At least there's no swelling this time.
