About to go into a #MSTeams “listening session” meeting, where someone will speak about $EMPLOYER’s plan for getting the #COVID-19 vaccine to employees.

This is going to be my first meeting using this system.

It seemed a little seat-of-the-pants. They read off some talking points, but didn't both referencing / linking the abstracts of studies backing their statements.

Since they spent a good portion of the presentation trying to refute arguments against the vaccines, they should have been better prepared.

I wasn't surprised that they couldn't answer my question. ("Given the US medical community's history with minorities, there are a lot of conspiracy theories flying in minority communities. Has $EMPLOYER prepared some materials to reassure minority employees and their families that the vaccines are safe for them to take?")

But, for example, there are people considered first responders, whose vaccines will be paid for by the agency, but they have to schedule their shots with a small number of locations in larger urban areas.

Many employees are not in the early vaccination groups, and will not have their shots provided or paid for by $EMPLOYER.

Question was asked, whether proof of vaccination would be required for entry into agency facilities. The answer was a long, rambling non-answer.

Question was asked whether employees would get to choose which vaccine they receive. Answer was long and rambling, but eventually leads to no.

Question was asked whether employees should wait for their local Walgreens to have vaccine rather than travelling to a major city from wherever the employee is. Answer was a lot of "uh" and "um" before a "do what you want to do" type answer.
