    I don't know a timeline, but I know ETH is working on a switch from PoW (mining) to PoS (staking). I first heard about it 2-3 years ago, while working in #PR. Shortly afterwards, a co-worker offered to sell me his multi-thousand dollar Ethereum mining rig. I guess he didn't know I saw the same article he did.
