    So with all the fuss around #Freenode, I recently realized that I hadn't logged into #IRC directly (as opposed to through #Matrix) in a couple of years.

    Checking, I found this:
    * Freenode account: closed.
    * OFTC account: still open, but since I had no IRC client installed, no idea what channels / rooms I used to use.
    * Rizon account: still open, but no idea what channels / rooms I used to use.
    * LiberaChat account: newly created.

    I haven't ever really been a fan of IRC. I couldn't stand it at all until I started using #SILC several years back. (I haven't used that in at least 3-4 years. I should take a look at it, again. When I quit using it, the channels I used on the main silcnet.org network were mostly very quiet.)

      @clacke Matrix created an identity with the same username that I use on Matrix (different than my standard IRC username), so I went through the process of turning it into a real IRC account to let me get into certain channels / rooms.

      But I never used that sccount with KVIRC and Quassel.
