#USGS says there was a M8.1 #earthquake in the South Sandwich Islands about three minutes after the M7.5 quake and ~54 miles / 90 kilometers South. These two quakes were followed by over 60 aftershocks of M4.5 or greater.

As this was a day ago, there is no #tsunami warning. I post this now because I just got an alert message from USGS (no idea whether it was sent at the time and just got hung up or whether this is being sent to clear up confusion about the two quakes so close together in space and time.
