I think I inadvertently created a new tradition. In the morning after breakfast, at mid-day before naptime, and in the evening before bedtime, #GS3 and I pull out the iPad and visit various tropical cyclone trackers, from NOAA / NHC to WMO severe weather.
Then we look at colorized radar loops of any storms found.
As an unfortunate side-effect of which ones sprung up earliest in our watching process, they are all named "wurricane Earl" (followed by whatever name ... e.g., "Tropical Storm Fiona") or "typhoon Muifa wurricane Earl" (again, followed by whatever name ... e.g., "Nanmodol").
My natural tendency is to visit these places once or twice per day, but "Grandpa! Let's check on the wurricanes!" happens at least thrice per day. I resist the other times, but I do understand that being 3.5 years old, he has not yet learned patience.
I do wonder what will happen after I leave. Are my son and daughter-in-law going to continue to visit storm sites with him? And what about after the various basins' storm seasons end? It may be months before there's another storm to see.
