My daughter-in-law's grandmother sent a message thanking me for being here and helping to take care of the kids during this time. Between the parents' #COVID-19 infections and the kids' #Strep_Throat infections, there were a few days where I was the only one who felt well enough to make sure the kids ate and had plenty of fluids (and took their antibiotics). And now, since the birth, I have continued to take the primary caregiver role for the 3.5 and 1.5 year olds, with some short respite care periods for the newborn as well.

Unfortunately, my reserved time off is quickly approaching its end, which means I may be called back to work. We need to coordinate with her parents to come here and assist for another month or so.
