#introductions I've been around on the federated indyweb for a long while and I'm mainly known as the maintainer of the Freedombone home server project. My ambition is to make it easier to run your own internet services on low cost hardware, including things like chat and social networks, so that you don't have to depend upon the big tech companies. I'm also interested in mesh networking, either as fixed community infrastructure or for providing communications in emergencies.
I am mostly a GNU/Linux software gardener/janitor who lives inside of Emacs or a browser and I'm a supporter and developer of Free Software. Becoming more independent and more free is my basic orientation.
I typically spend some amount of time ranting about politics, and politically I am probably closest to being an anarcho-communist, although I also read a wide range of left-oriented texts.
In a past career I was an industrial roboticist working on large dangerous machinery within almost fully automated factories and I also worked on computer vision and autonomous driving.
My pronouns are he/him and somewhat unusually for the fediverse I am drearily cisgendered.
