     @musicman It may be multiple factors involved, including NS and various servers, including this one. I'm planning to do some work to speed up this instance, but it may be a while before I get it done.
     
     I suspect that part of the cycle of not receiving incoming posts is due to slowness causing timeouts on the automated monthly renewal.

     @musicman Something else occurred to me. His #pump.io and #gnusocial servers are probably on the same physical box or at least in the same room, so default timeout settings for #NS may be too short for those with servers in widely scattered places.
