@simsa04 Thank you. 2nd son's wife has symptoms that resemble #COVID.19, but her tests came back negative. My half son's problems started with a back injury almost a decade ago.

Talked to R, another IT manager at $EMPLOYER. He's off work, partly because he's unvaxxed. He also just had the Omicron variant of #COVID-19.
He started spewing all sorts of antivax conspiracy garbage and weird political stuff. I had to get off the phone, because I do not want that content associated with me.

Rapid antigen tests have increase false negative rates versus the Omicron variant of #COVID-19 ... apparently, that strain of the #SARS-CoV-2 #coronavirus has a sufficiently different protein coat that tests show reduced sensitivity.

US schoolteacher arrested after giving 17 year old student vaccination shot. (Not a licensed medical person.)
17 is just a year's wait until the student would have been old enough to get vaccinated without parental permission. The teacher should have told the student to be patient if the parents were not willing to allow a vaccination.
There's also the possibility that whatever was in that shot was not a real #COVID-19 vaccine, or that it was expired or adulterated.

Mark also shared that one of our old co-workers from waaaay back (2005?) passed from #COVID-19. Not only him, also one of his sons.

Found a city-owned facility that offers #COVID-19 testing, so I'm going to head over there this morning. I think this is just a cold, but there are four people coming to the building tomorrow for a training class (despite it being closed due to the recent #coronavirus outbreak in #NYC) and I'm supposed to be there.
As @bthall said when we were discussing it over Wire, it is super weird to have that exception to "the building is closed and no one is allowed on-site". But there it is.

Mark called. He had flown home to SoCal to spend Christmas with his wife. Soon after his return to the US Northeast, he started to feel a little sick. He used an expired quick test to determine that he is probably infected with #COVID-19 ... I thought about it, and their office had at least one confirmed case right before his trip.
