The various levee breaches in #IL, #MO, #AR, and other states have had one positive effect: the water levels on the Mississippi River are not rising as fast or high as predicted. USACE has not yet opened the Morganza spillway, because #Baton_Rouge and #New_Orleans, #LA, are less likely to be flooded.

Weather channel says that possible tornados have hit in #Louisiana #LA including #Baton_Rouge
-
If you are in one of the states with flooding, two things you should do:
(1) make sure everyone in your dwelling is current on their vaccinations; and
(2) make sure you have a couple of days worth of bottled water, in case your local water processing / filtration plant is overwhelmed by the floodwaters.
Applies (at least) in parts of #MN #ND #SD #NE #MO #IA #KS #IL #TN #AR #MS #LA

#NOAA / #NWS is alerting again. Minor to moderate flooding along nearly every stream, creek, river in #KS and #MO, with a few in major flood stage.
Also, the Mississippi River is flooded from southern #IL to northern #LA, but it doesn’t seem to be a big event yet.

39F in #Baton_Rouge, #LA. I know they’re shivering.
-
Well, “I like WhatABurger” is sort of a stretch. I went a couple of times the first time I worked in #LA and thought they were pretty good. When I came back to area, I went back and wasn’t so impressed.

About the EBT thing, I suspect the rules have changed in the last 3-4 years. In #Baton_Rouge, #LA, there’s a gas station that sells fried chicken that tastes like Popeye’s spicy chicken, only better. I noticed a couple of years ago that they had a sign saying they now accept EBT for hot food purchases. I don’t know what restrictions, if any, remain.

This weekend has been a time of #t-storms and #tornado warnings in #KS and #MO. I think I even saw one for parts of #LA and #MS.
.
I've seen this in December before, so it is not too unusual, but it is still unexpected.
-
@geniusmusing I checked. It is “Florida’s Natural” brand. I have seen (but not tried) this brand in #LA, but not even seen it in #SoCal, #KS, #MO.
-
Krotz Springs, #LA. Area code 337. I think I only know one person with a 337 number. Blocked, spammer.
-
#Hurricane #Michael is now category 3, 120MPH, moving N at 12MPH. #NOAA / #NHC issuing warnings for coastal #AL and #FL to near Tampa.
Even #LA expecting some flooding in coastal parishes (and Livingston Parish. If you’re in Denham Springs or Walker, get ready).
-
S is telling me about a guy she worked with in #CA who is now working in #USVI. I saw most of those things happen when I worked with him in #LA.
-
@dragnucs Not usually. It depends on the assignment. When I was in Louisiana ( #LA ) a couple of years ago, I only occasionally had a day off for the first few months. Here in Puerto Rico ( #PR ), in about 3.5 months, I have not worked Sunday at all, but yesterday was my first Saturday off except for a couple of holiday weekends.
-
Looks at #Lync. People assigned in #CA, #FL, #VI, #VA, #VT, #NH, #LA are all off today. Only contacts assigned in #PR are working.
-
(3) Public instances:
This isn't a cancellation announcement, but an indefinite delay announcement. Working up to 14 hours a day five days per week in #MO and #LA was replaced with 10 hours a day six days per week in #PR. Energy levels remain below what I consider normal, so I'm unwilling to commit to running a public instance without knowing where I'll find the time and energy to do so.
-
Working with KW today for the first time in over a year (we were in a building in #Baton_Rouge, #LA). Tomorrow he heads southward to another building in #PR.

I'm still wearing the "fat" belt, but I'm now on the smallest hole. The other belt broke when I was in #Baton_Rouge #LA the last time, so if I lose any more weight, I'll be looking to replace my belt. I'm not going to try to get another hole punched. It's easier to just get another belt.
