#NOAA / #NWS is alerting for severe #t-storms in the Kansas City #KS and #MO area, with 80MPH straight line winds, hail. The storms are moving E and NE at 60-85 miles per hour, double the usual speed.
These storms are dangerous. If you're in the area, pay attention to weather alerts. If there is an alert for your area, seek shelter immediately.

I did add "read the #MO state constitution" to my list because of this ruling. Because it doesn't make sense that the health department is not allowed to create and enforce regulations pertaining to health.
I know the ruling said something about unelected bureaucrats making these decisions. I don't see how their constitution allows them to create health departments, but not for the health departments to do their jobs.

After all the t-storm and tornado alerts across #MO last night, parts of #KS will have a fire weather watch tomorrow. Winds with gusts up to 35MPH, humidity below 25%.

There was a storm that swept through #MO last night, so I got notices for tornado watches, then severe thunderstorm warnings, then tornado warnings, then as the storm moved out of the area, watch cancellations.
(Some of those alerts overlapped neighboring states of #KS, #AR, #IL.)
AFAIK, no damage to the areas where the kids live.

#sonTwo is driving home to #MO from #FL. We're on the phone, talking about the Pandora Papers and unethical billionaires.

According to the Weather Channel, there were up to eight #tornadoes last night in #MO, one possible #tornado in #IL, and heavy hail in #AR. So far, no reports of deaths.

Mid-Missouri take heed.

I think this may be “the Walmart drummer” from Jefferson City, #MO. It isn’t the same vehicle that I used to see, but it sounds like him.

> And finally, in an incredibly disappointing story, the governor of Missouri has referred a journalist for prosecution for discovering and responsibly disclosing an information leak in a state website. The flaw in the State’s Department of Education website potentially exposed the social security numbers of teachers.

#NOAA / #NWS alerting about potential #tornado conditions in the Kansas City area of #KS and #MO. These are watches (conditions favorable for formation), not warnings (actual tornado detected). If you’re nearby, pay attention to your local news, your cellular phone’s alert, and your weather radio alarm.

I remember one time I was working in #Missouri. I was at the hotel in the afternoon and the tornado sirens went off. Since I live in #SoCal, I have never seen a tornado. Naturally, I went outside to see whether I could see it. It passed well South of us, heading East, so I did not get to see it.
What else would you expect from a #CA resident in #MO?

If #sonTwo gets the job he's trying to get, my current plan is to travel to #MO to help with packing and moving and preparing the house for sale.

Looking at the #NOAA satellite view. There's a line of storms shooting from the SE corner of Nebraska, across the bottom of Iowa and top of Missouri, broadening out in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and starting to enter parts of Pennsylvania and New York. If you're in any of those areas, prepare for what looks like a pretty strong bunch of #t-storms.

Fire lookout towers. I saw one when I was working in #MO one time. It wasn't on the particular path I was walking, but there was a plaque telling what it was.
