Tropical depression Claudette happened. I remember seeing something about a likely storm a few days ago, but when I visited the #NOAA / #NHC site late last night (it was too hot to sleep until around 05:00) the #TropStorm was now a depression and heading for #NC.
It was expected to be a wet storm. Maybe later, I'll look for news stories.

Actually, I don't really trust the phone alerts. Since I carry the $EMPLOYER phone in addition to my own, I've noticed that sometimes one carrier will alert, while the other one is delayed up to 30 minutes or does not alert at all.
Unless your job requires you to carry a 2nd phone, you're best off buying a weather radio (with the #NOAA county-by-county alert system). It can give alerts to East Baton Rouge Parish without unnecessarily alerting Livingston Parish next door.

#NOAA / #NWS weather alert: severe #t-storm warning for mid-Missouri for: Callaway County in central #Missouri until 22:15 CDT. At 21:32, a severe thunderstorm was located near Auxvasse, moving SE at 25MPH. 60MPH winds, nickel size hail.
Radar indicated.
Expect damage to roofs, siding, trees. Storm will be near Williamsburg around 21:50 CDT. Includes #I-70 between exits 144 and 161.
Alert contains the following verbiage: "Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure."
Fulton is not mentioned, but they are in the warning area. It looks like Columbia is just to the W of the line of storms. As always, if you are in the area, listen to NOAA weather radio alerts or the emergency alerts on your phone.

Yep. #NOAA / #NHC announcing PTC3 just South of #Louisiana ... though if it does become a #TropStorm, I'd expect it to be East of its current center, with most of the activity being in #FL and #AL. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

There are some really gnarly-looking #t-storms moving across the Kansas City ( #KS and #MO ) area and all the way North to St Joseph. The #NOAA / #NWS warnings do not mention rotation, but these look intense in the graphics.
-
#NOAA / #NWS issuing watches and warnings for severe #t-storms across much of #KS and #MO, including Kansas City ( #KCMO and #KCK ), Manhattan, Topeka, Leavenworth, Atkinson, St Joseph … #tornado watches for North Central Kansas across to the KC area … #flood warnings and severe thunderstorm watches in SE Kansas and SW Missouri.
I only get alerts for a defined area, so places outside of that area may also be affected.
If you are in #Kansas, #Missouri, or nearby states, pay attention to your weather alert radio’s alerts and your phone’s alerts.
-
#NOAA / #NWS is busy today. #tornado, winter storm, flooding alerts streaming in across Central and Eastern #KS and Western and Central #MO. If you’re in or near these areas, pay attention to the alerts on the weather radio and your cell phone.
-
#Tornado alerts S and E of Kansas City earlier. Now a watch near Springfield / Joplin.
Also Winter storm advisories for snowfall.
#NOAA / #NWS
-
#NOAA / #NWS warning about snow that may affect travel in the #SoCal mountains and passes of #San_Bernardino, #Riverside, #Orange counties. Snow level could be 3,000-4,500 feet.
Earlier today, there were flood alerts for the foothills, but I believe those are cancelled now.
-
#NOAA / #NWS warning about minor flooding along various rivers and streams across eastern #KS, western #MO, central MO, including areas in and around the cities of #Kansas City, Joplin, Springfield, Rolla, Lebanon, Jefferson City, Columbia, Pittsburg, Fort Scott, Nevada. If you’re in that area, avoid low places and places that are underwater.
-
The tornado warnings have all expired. Now I'm getting #NOAA / #NWS warnings for minor flooding on various streams and rivers across eastern #KS; western, southwestern, and central #MO
-
I don’t know if the third alert is the same rotational storm that was over Neosho, but #NOAA / #NWS currently says there is radar indicated rotation near Granby #MO, 11 miles W of Monett, moving E at 25 MPH.
Again, the possible #tornado is radar indicated.
-
Second #tornado warning for Joplin #MO itself.
According to #NOAA / #NWS, this one is over Baxter Springs #KS, moving E at 30MPH. Radar indicated rotation.
Affected areas include #I-44 between mile markers 0 and 13, #I-49 between mile markers 30 and 35.
-
#NOAA / #NWS #tornado warning for Neosho #MO, SE of Joplin. If you’re in SE #KS or SW MO, make sure your cellular phone has emergency alerts turned on ... if you have a weather radio, make sure it still works, so it can pick up alerts for your area.
Radar indicated rotation, moving E at 35 MPH. Potential impacts include #I49 between mile markers 25 and 27.

I don’t get alerts for #Los_Angeles, #Ventura, or #Santa_Barbara Counties, but the radar forecast on https://nu.federati.net/url/279542 looks like they’re still up for heavy rainfall and flash flooding / urban flooding. Also, mudslides in areas near recent burn scars.
The #Inland_Empire counties ( #San_Bernardino and #Riverside ), where I do get alerts, still have #NOAA / #NWS warnings for both wind and rainfall, watches for flash flooding on the coastal side of the mountains.
If you’re in #SoCal, pay attention to where you’re driving.
