The commute to #NYC from #Albany was uneventful. As usual, Google maps and I could not agree on when it should tell me to get in a specific lane. I say "tell me far enough ahead so I can make my way through traffic" but GOOG says "I'll tell when you could barely make it without any traffic congestion".
As a result, I took a spin around a neighborhood in the Bronx. Oh, and I was on Broadway and in that vicinity. I saw what looks like Times Square, too.

Made new hotel reservation for my return to #NYC.

The walls seem to be thinner here, but people ARE louder than they were at my last #NYC hotel.
The neighbor reduced their volume once I put on William Hung's "She Bangs" video at the tablet's maximum volume. I guess they hadn't thought about the spillover into neighboring hotel rooms.

#sonOne is back at home. #sonTwo planned to have a #videochat before he left, so #GS3 can talk to his uncle, but it was okay because grandpa still got to talk to him.
We had some discussion of trying to coordinate a family trip to #NYC so we can all see the city together.
Also today, I drove to another office in #NYState. I don't know how far away #Quebec is, but I saw a school bus with its stop sign in another language (I think FR).

Today, we saw both the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Natural History. We walked through Central Park. And we went to the observation deck of Radio City Music Hall. We almost went ice skating, but the price was too high.
It would have been #sonOne's first time ice skating. I've gone before, but probably not in 45+ years. #NYC

For the second time in the last five years, I see my oldest in person. Both times because he flew to the area where I was. Tomorrow, we try to see (part of) the City.
After the ramen, we shared updates about family and friends. We talked about career goals. We talked about the geopolitical situation. And we talked about the difficulties involved in #sonOne coming to #NYC.

Doing a little reading about the #Euromaidan protests and the Revolution of Dignity in #Ukraine. But only a little, as I'm more focused on the family member visiting #NYC this weekend.

Also, I kept wondering what an "Oblast" was, so I finally looked it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oblast

Today was my last work day at the #NYC location. Next week, I'll drive to another location in #NYState and work at that office for an undetermined period.
I think my cousin is still here in New York, but I'm probably not going to get to meet him. By his description of the area, he was working really close to where I was working, but we never saw one another.
Now I'm trying to decide whether to go to the chicken place or the Italian place for tonight's dinner. I should probably go to the chicken place. #sonOne and I can go to the Italian place tomorrow or Sunday.

This guy next to me is listening to a #Trump interview about #RU_vs_UA and the economy.
I know that Trump produced better economic !econusa results for Black and Hispanic Americans than any previous president, but I think it was mostly accidental. I don't pretend that putting him back in office would produce similar results.
I am really not used to hearing this sort of stuff at work. These last few days in #NYC could get a little rough.
And please, please, #twin_parties, let us not have a rematch of the 2016 election. Let both of those candidates go home and walk on the beach, pondering where they went wrong.

I planned to eat at the Italian place before I leave #NYC. Seeing that tomorrow is March 1st, I think I need to do that soon. Maybe tomorrow.
-
I may have a visitor or two coming here soon. I still haven't gotten to meet up with my cousin, either. I should try to arrange that before I leave #NYC to head back to #SoCal.

Got a #NOAA alert on both phones about snow squalls coming through with visibility suddenly going down to zero. Looking out the window, there's not even a sign of snow. #NYC
-
Mark had texted yesterday before the game, asking when it had snowed. He's in #CT, so I imagine it started sometime after #NYC, but before #RI.
-
Most #NYC eateries have reopened their dining rooms to vaccinated people. AFAIK this does not include McDonald's or Burger King. But it could also just be that no one wants to be seen eating there.
-
I intended to revive my #vaporware #Fediverse project and do some server preparation, but I didn't even cd into ~/projects this weekend. Maybe next weekend, unless Mark from $EMPLOYER and his wife are able to visit #NYC.

A friend who is working in #Connecticut said he'd read that #NYC got 10 inches of snow. I went out briefly, but everywhere I could see had already been trampled by people walking. It did not look like it has been that thick.
I think most of #CT got more snow than New York did.

Starting to snow ❄️ in #NYC. A Nor’easter is supposed to bring up to six inches this weekend.
-
One of the weather sites says that the temperature in #NYC is 15F right now. That’s a little too cold 🥶. I was planning to walk down to Union Square or Washington Square and just enjoy being outside. But I will not enjoy it at that temperature, so I won’t go.

Fire department seems pretty busy today, judging by the number of fire trucks trying to get through Manhattan traffic. This part of #nyc is too crowded.
