One thing I really wouldn't mind seeing in #PeerTube is a channel directory feature, which could show all of the public channels on a local instance.
It'd make discovery way easier, especially when people like me end up making different channels for specific topics.
I published the release 1.15.0
It should fix recent crashes.
Also, it offers the ability to follow #peertube instances and to comment with your Mastodon account.
I attached a small how to video.
And so begins my new side project, #VidCommons
VidCommons.org is a #PeerTube instance dedicated to media released under Creative Commons licenses, as well as Public Domain videos.
The goal is to create a media portal full of stuff that's freely available to share, with the intent to maximize exposure for independent media released under CC-licenses, all within the fediverse.
This is a really good improvement. #PeerTube

Would really love to see #Diaspora support #PeerTube embeds: https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/issues/7792
I mean, I'd love to see them support activitypub, too, but embedded federated videos would be awesome.

Looks like #PeerTube v1.0.0-beta.11 has some new features surrounding moderation and user safety!
https://github.com/Chocobozzz/PeerTube/releases/tag/v1.0.0-beta.11
Brief rundown:
* Add ability to ban a user
* Add ability to set a moderation comment to an abuse
* Add state (pending, accepted, rejected) attribute to an abuse
* Add ability to set a reason when blacklisting a video
As an aside, it's also now possible to import videos from a URL, which is a huge improvement!

Just updated my #PeerTube instance to 1.0.0-Beta10! ?
It's really starting to come along. I'd say there's still a long way to go, but I feel more confident with uploading videos to my various channels.
Is there an easy way to upgrade to Pre-Releases of #PeerTube? Or do I just have to wait until the next release gets tagged? ?
There's an amazing number of #ActivityPub #alternatives now available or under development:

Anything missing from the list? What else is needed?
#Blender gets all their videos blocked worldwide by #YouTube. #Armory3D has their #Patreon page closed down and their backers refunded without any notice as to why. All the #FOSS projects hosted by #GitHub now have their hosting at the mercy of #Microsoft.
And this is just a few of the recent examples.
When is the #FOSS community going to learn that we need to create and run our own infrastructure as well as apps?
Support #decentralised #FOSS infrastructure! (eg #PeerTube, #tilt, #Gitea etc)
#PeerTube is really close to the €45,000 Euro goal:

Let's support them and make decentralized video even greater!
1000 contributors!
A thousand thanks to each and every one of you!
It's not over yet, only 3 days left to fund the #PeerTube we wish to exist in our wildest dreams! https://www.kisskissbankbank.com/en/projects/peertube-a-free-and-federated-video-platform/wall#1-000-contributions
Is anyone creating videos and uploading them to #PeerTube?
I ask because I'd love to have something to watch on here. ?
Update: #PeerTube instances can now federate with video.blender.org! Just confirmed that it's working now. ?
