A few months back, I bought a couple of laptops and shipped them to #sonTwo. He's using one and I'm fighting with the other. So far, it refuses to boot an OS installer from a flash drive, and Windows delights itself in throwing obstacles in the way of what I'm trying to do.

When I was younger, I could work a full-time job plus a part-time job, plus be a full-time college / university student, plus dedicate a weekly afternoon to #sonOne and a separate weekly afternoon to #sonTwo (and later to both he and #Daddy_A), plus have time to attend church. I was always very tired, and slept like a rock most nights.

#GS3, #GS4, and #GS5 are asleep, but Hamilton continues. I seem to recall buying some historian’s book about Alexander Hamilton, along with both the Federalist Papers and the Anti-Federalist Papers. I think I bought two copies each (one sent home and one sent to #sonTwo, so should be here somewhere).
If I can find them, I think I’ll try to read some portion of those books.

After today’s outside playtime, I put #GS4 in the tub while #sonTwo bought take out from the wing place. The newly clean child was soon covered from forehead to knees with barbecue sauce.
It only took a couple of minutes to clean him up, but the speed with which he got dirty reminded me of “Pig Pen” from the old Peanuts comic strip.

In the middle early 1990s, I remember wanting to start a "Desert Launch Project" to build a commercial space launch facility in one of California's desert areas. At the time, I was outside of any urban or even micro-urban municipal boundaries, and the stars were so abundant and so bright that they seemed to be just a little higher than my hands could reach.
I know that #sonTwo, at least, remembers me taking him to have a star night with my mom. #sonOne, being ten years older, had fewer such nights, but he might also remember. (I'm pretty sure that #Daddy_A never got that opportunity.) My mom was a volunteer in a local science program, so she interacted regularly with amateur and professional astronomers. (Years later, I met some people around 1st son's age who told me "Your mom is so cool! She used to teach us about [some aspect of astronomy] and [some software used on Macintosh computers of that time].") Someone even gave her a telescope.
Alas, it was a time of great struggle just to provide basic necessities for myself, so building a team and seeking funding was never going to happen. DLP was an idea that never went beyond "just an idea". I wouldn't even call it still born, as it never even became an embryo.

#sonTwo and I are watching some episodes of "Chuck". I had never seen this show. I like it enough that I'm planning to get the series on DVD.
-
Update: the doctor said #GS4 has strep throat. But no one has gone anywhere (except for #sonTwo going to work) for a couple of weeks, so where would he get exposed?
-
Now the 1.5 year old is running a fever. 100⁰F. He's on his way to the medical office. #sonTwo came rushing in, unloaded his work stuff, loaded up #GS4 and headed for the urgent care center.
Hopefully, they aren't overloaded. I remember sitting in an emergency room for five hours with a sick baby once.
-
This just in: #sonTwo just took a #COVID-19 test; tested positive. He's supposed to be at the hospital in a few days for the birth of the next child, but now may have to change plans.
(He found out after he arrived at work to cover someone's shift for medical reasons, so there may be an outbreak in his workplace.)

#sonTwo and his wife have decided to use #GS3’s interest in “wurricanes” as a lead-in for learning about weather and storms in general.
-
#GS3 seems to be sneakier than his dad was. He likes to play with water, so he will fill a cup, carry it hidden, and dump it on furniture (beds, chairs, couches, tables) then repeat the process. #sonTwo was much more straight-forward about such things.
-
Now, #sonTwo and I are watching Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
The #Star_Wars series of movies has been a long term favorite for us.
-
#sonTwo just introduced me to a show called “Neighborhood”. I think I will watch a few episodes and see whether it lives up to its premise (White family moves into a Black neighborhood).
-
#GS3 to #sonTwo: Turn on the TV. There's a #baseball game!
But the local station was not showing a game, so the TV immediately got shut off. Good to see that he's learning.
-
#sonTwo is teaching them to watch and cheer for the Dodgers and Angels, a lesson I remember transmitting to him.
I'll be there soon. I'll get to meet the younger child face to face for the first time, get to see the older child face to face for the first time in two years, and I'll meet their soon-coming brother.

A nice 90 minutes long #videochat with #GS3 and #GS4 this evening. The younger grandchild was in the chat almost the whole time. The older was in and out. #sonTwo told me that the tail end of my visit may coincide with his in-laws' arrival, and he's thinking of ways to encourage ethnic enlightenment.
I missed loosely scheduled chats with #sonOne's family and #Dadfy_A's family.

When the newest batch of consoles released, I decided that I was not going to participate, and the kids would have to buy their own if they wanted them. (I bought 4 of the #PS4, though #sonTwo paid half of the price for his unit.) Now I sort of want to get a #PS5, but only if I can find some games I'll want to play regularly.
The newest #XBox versions still seem to focus on people who play Call of Duty, which is 100% not my thing.

Today is #coin-laundry day. I also noticed a nearby #pizza and #pasta shop where I used to take #sonTwo (I think we brought #Daddy_A one or two times; I took #sonOne there a few times when he was in high school), so I considered buying something ... until I read their health grade placard. At last inspection, they had major violations, but still got an "A".
Major violations could be #cockroach infestation, sewer backup, rodent infestation, employees not handwashing after using the restroom, sick employees coughing and sneezing all over the food, and other such issues.
No thank you. Kill somebody else.

#sonTwo is teaching #GS3 the right way: They watched a baseball game (Miami Marlins against the Los Angeles Dodgers) together.

Speaking of memories, for all these years, I have been shopping at the #Target store where #sonTwo and #Daddy_A worked. I have seen the service slide, followed by stockouts -- even before #COVID-19 -- of specific products, followed by general inventory shortages, followed by replacing known good products with low quality store branded products.
I still go to "Super Target" instead of #Walmart or the nearest supermarket. Or I go to the cross-town supermarket and stop by the Target in that area.
But I'm not happy with them. If someone opened a clean and well-stocked store within walking distance with the quality products I want, I would switch in a heartbeat.
