Clarification from #sonTwo: #GS4 finds the toddler crayons require more pressure than he can exert, so when he's reaching out to his parents in the photos, it is because he is asking them to help him draw.
Also, it was good that there were two sets of crayons, as #GS3 decided he wanted the crayons when his younger brother had them.
The adults in his life will have to try to ensure that he knows there is enough of $ITEM available for both kids to enjoy, so he does not feel that his younger brother is cutting into his supply.

Toddler crayons (egg-shaped to make it easier for their hands) and finger paints arrived today. #GS3 and #GS4 are coloring.
The 1 1/2 year old keeps offering the crayons to his parents when they are trying to take photos.
I think #sonTwo and his wife are waiting until they can buy long smocks for the kids before allowing the finger paints to be used.

Speaking of patching broken relationships, #sonTwo had avoided speaking with his mother for several years, despite my urging him to get in touch. I know part of it was that her current(?) hubby had not wanted a teenage stepchild.
In one of our recent calls, he mentioned that his mom had bought some clothing for #GS3 that was years too large for him. Later, he said they'd been occasionally talking on the phone.
So I guess they've patched things up.

Instead of the traditional #pizza Friday, I am having teriyaki chicken with rice and noodles today.
I’m probably not going to have pizza 🍕 again until I visit #sonTwo’s family. I’m hoping to cook our own, so I will have to find a crust recipe that works with the kinds of flour that they eat.

#GS3 and #GS4 received some art supplies today, so they got to draw and color. According to #sonTwo, it has been rainy today, so the kids did not get to test out their sidewalk chalk.

It looks like Kenan Thompson is starting to lose weight. I have mostly seen him when he was a Nickelodeon star in the 1990s, from watching “All That” and “Kenan and Kel” with #sonTwo.
(I did try to watch “Spongebob Squarepants” with #Daddy_A, but I just never enjoyed the show. Like when I tried to watch “Ren & Stimpy” and “Beavis & Butthead” with #sonOne. Sorry, I just can’t do it.)

Booked my flight to #sonTwo's place. Since I'm staying for at least a month (possibly six or seven weeks, depending on the situation in #MO and #SoCal), I went with a one-way ticket.
#GS4 still thinks I live in the computer screen. #GS3 has seen me in person, but that was half his life ago.
Because I was in #NYC so long, this trip is later than expected. Thus, because of school schedules, I cannot be sure that I will get to visit the older grandchildren during this trip.

I should clarify: those feelings come because when I'm deeply engrossed in these songs, I am in touch with *me in 1982* or whatever. I see the plans and dreams of what I intended to accomplish, and--no plan survives contact with the real world--the contrast with the actual. But a few minutes or hours later, I'm fine again.
I discussed this in tonight's daily call with #sonTwo and it occurred to me that without access to my internal transcript, readers would not understand the process.

My sister: #GS3 is a little clone of #sonTwo. Same hair, same grin.

Sitting in the city "lunch park" and observing the trees where #sonTwo and I lost a couple of model rockets. One of them was returned to my workplace by a city worker. The other worked itself free and blew into someone's yard.
We only did rocketry for a year or so, so we never got to bring #Daddy_A into it.

Thanks to timezones, I missed my regularly scheduled #videochat with #sonTwo and his family.
I was unsuccessful in scheduling a chat with #Daddy_A and his family. I also planned to do an unscheduled chat with #sonOne and his family.

The temperature here is about 10°F warmer than it is in #sonTwo's hometown, but due to humidity there, the heat index is the same.

@simsa04 Home. Or non-home, since my family will have moved before my travel day and I'm planning on relocating to #sonTwo's house this year.

#sonTwo put the boys on #videochat yesterday after they had visited a pick-your-own farm. #GS4 (age 1) ate everything he picked, while #GS3 (age 3) filled the bucket.
They love fruit.
During the chat, GS3 showed me his new monster truck toy (a little bigger than a Hot Wheels toy). GS4 was eating a sandwich and kept calling me "Dadda" and "Papa", then (after sonTwo corrected him) he'd call me "Gan'pa" before starting over with Dadda. He ate about half the sandwich before he held it too low and it became dog food.
The new puppy is teething, so they need to have lots of chew toys to stick in front of it whenever it tries to chew something it shouldn't chew. Hopefully, this time they can weather the storm long enough to get the doggy past that stage. A prior puppy's chewing got so bad that they took it to sonTwo's in-laws because it even tried to chew on GS3.
The existing dog has learned to escape from human children when it wants a little rest, but the doggy child goes into the backyard when the older dog goes out.

#sonTwo reports that #GS3 has now figured out how to unlock and open the front door. He went outside into the (currently unfenced) front yard. The dog went out with him, so he was protected from untrusted adults, but the dog won't keep him out of the street.
They're getting a chain lock to prevent him from getting out and will be calling a fencing company soon. I also suggested putting in another baby gate.

#sonTwo and his wife took the boys to a little carnival thing. Being 3 and 1, the primary thing they let them do was go into toddler bounce rooms. #GS3's bounce room had little obstacles and he got to meet some new friends, so he tried to hide when it was time to leave.
#GS4's bounce room had other 1 and 2 year olds, but they did not interact with each other.

#sonTwo's $EMPLOYER had already scheduled this week as active shooter training. Now it takes on new urgency.

#sonTwo took the boys to a place where you can pick your own strawberries. #GS3 really enjoyed filling the basket. #GS4 ate everything he picked.

@simsa04 When I first started travelling for work, #sonTwo would call me and not talk. I didn't understand it and it annoyed me. It was only later that I figured out that it was his way of "sitting in the same room while we do our separate tasks".

#Daddy_A reports that he had a reaction to some medication a few days ago and wanted to go to the hospital, but couldn't because his wife was already hospitalized and there was no one to take care of the kids.
I asked #sonTwo to call him and find out what we can do to help, but apparently, he recovered without intervention. (I also mentioned that #sonOne is 2-3 hours away, which is about 3 hours closer than #sonTwo.)
Anyway, he's better now and is repurposing a #Raspberry_Pi 3 that I sent for #A1 into a project combined with an #Arduino UNO R3.
