@dthompson like a USB cable, you just try -L and -R until it works. Typically on the 3rd try.

Consider all the data that's used to provide the value-added features on top of git. Issue tracking, wikis, notes in commits, lists of forks, pull requests, access controls, hooks, other configuration, etc.
Is that data stored in a git repository?
On the plus side, if we're all in a simulation, looks increasingly likely we can break out.
Seems appropriate today to remember that we're building things out of sand here.
