@gcupc XMPP is good, but not perfect. I think the ideal situation would be if servers like prosody and ejabberd came with the XEPs needed for Conversations built into the default install, so that the amount of configuration needed was minimal.

It sounds like with the RCS "universal profile" the telco always keeps your roster. If that's the case then it's much worse than XMPP since there would be no chance of keeping any amount of control of your social graph.

@bob @gcupc Adding xeps to prosody is probably what made my install so unstable to boot.

@maiyannah @bob @gcupc That's just #Prosody. 80%+ of the time, it just works with little or no effort. But when it does not, it's like wrestling a wild boar to try to make it work.
