@geniusmusing LOL.
AFAIK, my 7 year old grandson #Little_Boy_A does not have a Facebook account. But if #Daddy_A set one up for him, he’d likely not tell me.

Before I commit, I should talk to @rye and @amic about Animal Crossing ... another grandchild (and a cousin's child also) had some negative interactions on #Roblox, so I want to know about the online interaction part. #Daddy_A is pretty savvy, so he may already know what to do to prevent bad things, but I want to know before I introduce it into their home.

https://emojipedia.org/grimacing-face/ ? is what #Daddy_A sends me when I call him by his childhood nickname.

In related news, #Daddy_A and the family will be passing through my area of #SoCal sometime this Summer ... going to visit his sister-in-law. If I'm still here, I'll get to see them.

#sonOne’s $EMPLOYER was purchased by a competitor, but he believes that he has a good chance of being kept because he works hard and knows his stuff. He sometimes writes tutorials for their NOC staff.
#sonTwo is delivering #pizza and working at a large retailer ... 60+ hours / week ... almost making what his job paid.
#Daddy_A is the stay-at-home dad ... his wife had only recently returned to work before the #COVID-19 outbreak, but she’s been able to work from home. His next few back surgeries are postponed (there’s some sort of electronic nerve stimulation device they want to implant in a couple of places to relieve pain and give back feeling in his legs).

Message from #Daddy_A this morning: "... it seems I've managed to fill up the 4TB HDD you sent me for my PC ..."
My (unsent) response: You should have space for at least one more, but I've been off work since mid-November and won't be available for assignments again until at least mid-May, so I cannot send you one.

#Daddy_A says that should tell the security investigator that I once started a “love train” in McDonalds. I’d forgotten about that. I remember how embarrassed #sonTwo was.

Still trying to get #sonTwo and #Daddy_A together to test multipoint videochat and audiochat on #Wire, #Jitsi_Meet, #Nextcloud_Talk (whenever I get that one set up). So far, I have one-to-one chats with sonTwo plus his wife and #GS3 almost daily; one-to-one chats with #sonOne plus #GD1 and #GD2 (wife usually appears briefly) every week, and one-to-one chats with Daddy A plus wife, #Little_Boy_A, #Little_Boy_A2, #Little_Girl_A3 about 1-2 times per year.

Good morning and #TZAG. I awoke around 02:45 US-Pacific (three hours ago). Since I could not get back to sleep, I got up to start my day. Three hours later, I'm tired.
Today is downweight, but still above a psychologically important barrier.
Still no answer from my 32 year old ( #sonTwo ) or my 30 year old ( #Daddy_A ) about having a multi-way videochat today.
-
Waiting to hear whether we're going to try another multipoint videochat tomorrow. I invited #sonTwo and #Daddy_A (tomorrow's plan is #Wire and #JitsiMeet ... I still have not set up #Nextcloud Talk, which is also on our list). #sonOne is currently working 6-10s, so I didn't invite him.

"[ #Little_Boy_A's ] school is cancelled thru the end of the school year, so effectively he's a 2nd grader now" -- latest update from #Daddy_A.

I was a little worried that #Daddy_A would feel left out because I'm unlikely to be able to send him a #NAS or the server & rack for his birthday. Both #sonOne and #sonTwo got a NAS for their birthdays. During yesterday's videochat with 2nd son, I mentioned it and he said "you won't find out whether he takes it badly until you tell him, but I'm sure he will understand". So last night, I sent a message.
This morning I received a reply:
"No worries about the NAS or server ... don't let yourself stress out about that!"
Breathing a sigh of relief.

Today’s discussions:
* #sonTwo scrambling to find another job, plus complete some projects around the house (fencing the yard, making a vegetable garden).
* #sonOne’s job is very busy recently, so he hasn’t had time for much of anything; #GD1 and #GD2 begin online classes tomorrow.
* #Daddy_A was broke when the panic buying started, so he’s having to drive all over town to find food & supplies for the five of them.
* Mark (from $EMPLOYER) is working from his #hotel most days, but now thinks he may leave the assignment early and return to #SoCal because his mom is older.

It’s been over a month since I have talked with #sonOne and #GD2, so today’s chat was particularly valuable. (I’ve talked with #GD1 a couple of times in that interval.) It’s usually only #Daddy_A that has such long interruptions in communication. (NOTE: this refers to audiochats, phone calls, videochats; even during quiet periods, we usually still communicate by SMS and text chat in Wire.)

#Daddy_A's wife is on "work from home" due to #COVID-19 related shutdowns.
#sonTwo's employer is on a two-week shutdown. The company is continuing to pay them, but might not be able to continue beyond that.
#sonOne's employer put all office and data center employees on WFH.
My mom's community groups: so far, one has discontinued all meetings until May. Still waiting to hear from the others (I'm trying to convince her not to attend no matter what they do).

Whenever things stabilize financially, I want to send this (and of course a couple of used servers and a NAS to put in it) to #Daddy_A. However, I think I’ll make extra effort to find a non-Amazon purchasing venue.

Also, received a message from #Daddy_A.
His wife is working again, so he’s cancelled his effort to obtain work. They are down to one working car, so takes #Mama_A to work and takes #Little_Boy_A to school, then picks them up after.

Shipped some Dr Seuss books to #sonTwo for #GS3's first birthday. I need to ask #Daddy_A how #Little_Boy_A likes the game (his birthday present) when it arrives, too.

#Daddy_A is enjoying his "new" monitor, a 32 inch Samsung curved model. It was a display model and needed a little cleaning, but it works. He paid $16!.

One of my goals for today is to turn on the #PS4 and / or #Switch and play for a while today. I should see if #sonTwo is available. I know both of our "FIFA" and "MLB: The Show" versions are years old, but maybe we can still play.
I think #sonOne is moving one or both of his 20-something sons to their grandmother's apartment in SE Kansas today. I should call the granddaughters also.
#Daddy_A is going to be busy with family tasks today. I may still ask.
