I had a delightful videochat conversation with #sonTwo, his wife, and #GS3. We talked about the island assignment offer and whether we could find a way to continue having these chats regularly if I was in the other timezone.
I’ve just hinted at it with #sonOne, because I’m sure it would be even harder to continue my chats with seven year old #GD2.
It’s already hard to schedule time with #Daddy_A to chat with those kids. We *think* we’ll have one this Saturday, for the first time this year.

@amic Yeah. I know. I always worked evenings, weekends, and holidays. Fifteen years after that changed, I still don't know what to do with myself on Saturdays.

But I was off almost every Wednesday when #sonOne was in high school. When #sonTwo and #Daddy_A were in middle school and high school, that changed to Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Naturally, those were the days I got the kids (plus the odd weekend).

After three or four back surgeries, #Daddy_A is starting to feel parts of his legs. But definitely not his feet. He hasn’t felt his feet in four to six years.

The two youngest ( #sonTwo, #Daddy_A ) are both feeling stress over their wives medical issues and the related financial impacts.

I really do enjoy these weekly videochats with #sonTwo and his wife and #GS3. It isn’t quite the same as when #Little_Boy_A was that age, because #Daddy_A and family were right around the corner and I saw him in person multiple times each week, but it is still helping us attach.

Someone at work was walkie-talkie-ing with his child at school using something called #Relay https://relaygo.com/ ... has anyone heard of this before? Opinions?
I’m not planning to buy this for any grandkids, but I sent the link to #sonOne and #Daddy_A (who both have school age kids) for them to decide for themselves. I made sure to say I wasn’t endorsing it, having just heard of it right before I sent them the link.

#sonTwo has arrived in #NE, and is approaching #Daddy_A’s house.

#Daddy_A found another lump on his neck. The last one (removed last year, non-malignant) was on the side and partially under his jawbone. This one is more toward the back of his neck.

Giving up on ever getting a logo and favicon out of #Daddy_A. He means well, but he's likely never going to produce the pieces I requested.

There’s a possibility that #Daddy_A is going to get some sort of implant soon. They are trying to cut his pain level way down and restore sensation below the waist. A series of back surgeries have helped, but after each one, it isn’t too long before the pain and numbness are back near their former levels.

#GD2 drew the two of us together. She put X X for her eyes, so uncle #Daddy_A thought she drew herself dead.

Three deliveries today. So far, one is confirmed. #Daddy_A received the tablet and toys.

No phone call with #sonOne, #GD1, #GD2 today (network issue at work, so he was on conference bridges all day), but I did get a nice message on Wire.
Had a nice videochat with #sonTwo and his wife and doggy ( #GS3 was having a nap ). Also got a photo of him and the baby wearing #Dodgers gear.
Nothing from #Daddy_A today. I expect I'll get a "Hey, I forgot; I hope you're not mad" message in 2-3 days.

Shipped some toys to #Daddy_A in #NE. Forgot to ship the baby clothes to #sonTwo in #MO.

It sounds weird, but now that my mom and I prefer the same brand of #yogurt, we call each other more often to say that $SUPERMARKET_CHAIN has it on special than we ever called before. I would like to see whether this would help #Daddy_A increase the number of voice calls.
(Before you ask, I’m very grateful that he communicates on Wire and SMS almost every day and often several times during the day. I appreciate the effort he makes to stay in contact. I would still like to hear his voice more often.)

#Daddy_A turned thirty years old recently. How did the youngest of all get so old?

I talked to my “no answer” kid ( #Daddy_A ) for a few minutes recently because of birthdays. It was good, but uncomfortable. I ended it pretty quickly.
Our last actual phone call before now was Christmas of 2017. (But we do communicate over #Wire regularly and sometimes via #SMS.)

@bthall The funny thing is #sonOne and #sonTwo each contact me to ask how the other is doing, but they contact each other directly to talk about me or #Daddy_A.
