#sonOne and #Daddy_A are both having silent periods. They do this from time to time, but not usually at the same time.

Me: I know things are rough, but don't make an OnlyFans account and start streaming strip shows. They aren't that bad.
#Daddy_A: It's getting pretty close to time for me to make that OF account.
Each of these guys is totally different. I could not have had that conversation with either of his brothers.

Got a message from #Daddy_A at midnight his time. He’s been working on a project most today and he finally completed it successfully.
I did not say “<childhood nickname>, what are you doing up? Go to bed.”, but I really wanted to say it. At the same time, I’m glad to see that he still takes on challenges and pushes through to completion.

#Daddy_A reports that an item I purchased that was due to arrive between June 9 and July 6 arrived today.
The Dodgers outfits and books I sent for #GS3 and #GS4 should arrive at #sonTwo's house tomorrow.
Meanwhile, #GD1 has started reading Manga* books, so I asked #sonOne for guidelines on what to buy. He's going to talk with her before he gets back to me.
* English translations, obviously.

#sonOne is doing network engineering for a telecommunications company.
#sonTwo recently changed to doing night security … at a slight pay increase, but recently interviewed for some sort of technical supervisor role. He’s also been dabbling (time is limited, I understand) in some web development courses.
#Daddy_A recently started some webdev courses, but has said nothing more, so I don’t know what kind of progress he’s making. I offered to send him a server if he can show me that he’s going to put it to use, but I’d probably be better off ordering one off eBay than paying someone to properly package and ship one of the ones I have here.

Work schedules, time zones, various family schedules within each household.
I was trying to arrange a family #videochat because #Daddy_A turned 32 recently, but I don’t think we’ll find a time and date when we can all be on at once. We’ll probably just leave it with the individual phone calls we each had.

Since it seems like we are digging into #cryptocurrencies, I bought ‘Ledger S Nano’ hardware cryptocurrency wallets for myself and the two younger boys ( #sonTwo, age 33; #Daddy_A, age 32 ).

Last night, over #Wire, #Daddy_A and I were discussing #cryptocurrency again. I compared DOGEcoin's rising and falling based on Elon Musk's tweets to the penny stock "pink sheets" ... except that Mr Musk is probably smart enough to only have minimal exposure to the rollercoaster price movements his tweets are causing.
Of course, I also compared his tweeting to that of a well-known former politician. Both have tweeted things which should never be said publicly, if at all.

Flash cards shipped to #Daddy_A and #sonOne. I told them that if they make use of all the educational stuff I've sent, the kids will be college professors before they graduate high school.

On the phone with #sonTwo and loving the depth that he’s developed. Tonight’s discussion is wide-ranging, but he’s showing a tremendous growth since he grew up and left home. I wish I could have some of these conversations with his brothers.
(Note: I do occasionally have a deep conversation with #Daddy_A, but nothing like these. #sonOne is too ideologically purist to have many of these discussions, because anyone who disagrees is evil. I’m hoping he mellows now that he’s in his 40s.)

#Daddy_A informs me that I made four year old #Little_Boy_A2 very happy when I sent a microphone headset for the #Nintendo #Switch.

Had a conversation with #Daddy_A over #Wire ... basically a text chat ... about the areas he’d driving through. Some large-ish cities in Great Lakes states. The way that much of what is visible from the highway are just skeletons of industry that is long gone. The importance of getting to the #hotel early, before dark, and not leaving anything in the car.
In all of this, I’m hearing a thoughtful, contemplative person who has finally found his voice. He’s using words longer than five letters long, spelled correctly, with proper punctuation and discussing concepts that I’m only aware of because of some of the courses I took in college.
(I guess some of those discussions about what I was studying sunk in. I did not know he was paying attention.)

#Daddy_A reports that he found a #White_Castle during his trip to another state. He was excited about it. Now he’s going to need to constrain himself to boiled cabbage for a week to counteract the grease and salt, but I guess it is worth it.

... servers: I gave #sonTwo back the used Dell server he bought for me some years back and added a second one (an HP), because he needed some hands-on for a job he was applying to. #sonOne had offered to send one, but I had already ordered.
Next up, #Daddy_A ... he’s been doing some webdev courses, so I may see if there’s something on Ebay for around $100. (The purchase, if it ever happens, will not be soon. He needs to be sure he’s going in that direction.)

I’m sure the sound is processed for the commercial. It probably is a little more realistic than our old playing cards were, but I’d be surprised if it sounds like it does in this video.

Then #Daddy_A responded. They all have real bikes (the younger two with training wheels, since they are 4 and 3). I told him I'd already ordered. I guess he'll take care of letting the younger two know that grandpa still loves you.

#Daddy_A hasn’t been doing much due to the pain and mobility issues that his back injury causes, but #sonTwo has convinced him to take a couple of online courses toward a potential new career. This is one that he could possibly work from home, too.
I’m going to stop nagging these young men and let them convince each other to do what they need to do. It seems to work a lot better.
