#sonTwo is continuing the tradition by watching baseball games with #GS3 on the laptop and on #TV. A lot of the games they watch are #Dodgers or #Angels games.

Kinetic Sand
This seems to be #GS3’s latest thing. #sonTwo says it is easier to clean up than Play Dough. I had never heard of it before.

#sonTwo: I think the reason the #Dodgers won the World Series last year is because the shortened season helped them avoid their traditional midseason slump.
I think it is rather amazing how the team was known for streaks of wins and losses when I watched them as a child and they are still known for it when we’re “teaching my grandson right” by watching baseball games with #GS3. There must be a consistent management pattern which encourages this.

Will probably send books to #sonTwo tomorrow. #GS3 is already used to getting regular shipments of books and toys and #GS4 will figure it out within a year or so.
At one point, #A1 ( #Little_Boy_A ) knew that every time a box came to the house, it was gifts from grandpa.

#GS4 has a carrier / seat that rock automatically. #GS3 just got in it and sang "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round" ... in two year old style: 'round round round bus bus round'.

My daughter-in-law still notes that the older child stays far away from the younger child’s mouth. They used to have a large breed puppy that chewed on everything and everyone (reason they gave it away), so maybe he thinks all babies want to put dagger-sharp teeth into your flesh.

Daughter-in-law reports that #GS4 is a lot quieter than #GS3 was.
I got the first smiling photo yesterday.

Speaking of "snot suckers", the other grandparents are there helping with #GS3 and #GS4. Their grandma was running the device on the yougest child GS4 when his two year old brother GS3 exclaimed "STOP!"

First photos have arrived. #GS4’s face looks much like #GS3’s face. Not as dark as the older child, and a little rounder at birth.
I’m assuming all the fingers and toes are there, as the medical situation of my daughter-in-law means that no one is really taking time for anything unnecessary with the baby.

The other grandparents have arrived to help with #GS3 and (soon) #GS4. I don’t know how long they will be there.

Called #sonTwo to ask whether they wanted me to order some baby formula. He said they are going to try to avoid using it as long as possible.
He did send me a list, so I’ll try to get this stuff ordered tonight. Maybe it will arrive before the child ( #GS4 ).
We also talked about making sure that #GS3 ( age 2 ) gets personal time with both parents, so he does not feel like the new child is taking away the love and attention he previously got.

I bought #sonTwo an enclosed 8U server rack back in 2019. Enclosed because it would make the servers less vulnerable to babies. #GS3 found a spot where the cables come in and pushes blocks into the rack.
He hasn’t damaged anything, but I’m just amazed at the way he found the one? chink in the armor.

I guess it is time to introduce the idea of multiple languages into #GS3's life. These books are bilingual English-Spanish. Not expecting these to teach him Español, but I do want him to love languages as the communication tools they are. https://nu.federati.net/attachment/280613

#GS3 is trying to build a tower of giant Lego-like blocks on #sonTwo's toes. I don't think I ever would have thought of that.

A good 40 minutes of chatting with #GS3 and #sonTwo. He's picking up more words:
apple, basket, jacket -- he showed me all these and said the items name as he did so.
He took a little while to warm up because we haven't talked in a while.

Getting ready to #videochat with #GS3. Work schedules and timezones have prevented us from doing this for a few weeks.

Got a few pictures of #GS3 recently.
He found #sonTwo's hat, so naturally, in one photo, he's walking around wearing it.
In another photo, he's eating #yogurt. Much like grandpa, except he still likes strawberry flavor and I don't care for it.
They also got him a little sandbox, so in one photo, he's jumping into the sand, enjoying the challenge of doing something he hasn't done before.

I finally had two days off in a row. I feel better, but still not where I should be.
I didn’t go downstairs and hit the treadmill. I think I need to reserve some time each day for the treadmill, seeing that I was gasping for air when I ran up a few flights of stairs at work recently.
I also didn’t get a response from the kids about putting grandkids (at least #GD2, #GS3, and their cousin A1) on videochats, so they never happened.
