#sonTwo installed a "storm door" on the enclosed porch, so that they can sit outside in the evenings during the warmer part of the year. Today's #videochat with him and #GS3 took place out there. My grandson--like his father--is really texture oriented, so he likes the door mat. But other than that, he's not especially thrilled about a small area with no entertainment. He kept pointing at the door and babbling. -

I dearly love the videos, pictures, and videochats with #GS3, but I still feel like they're giving him too much screen time. None of us knew better when #GD1, #GD2, and #Little_Boy_A were little, so they spent hours each day in front of glowing rectangles. I wish this last grandchild to grow up acquainted with, but not engrossed in whatever's on the screen. -

#GS3 got to go outside today. It has been a while since he got to be out in the yard and touch grass and plants. The #granddoggy was right there, making sure he did not get too far from the house. -

Still trying to get #sonTwo and #Daddy_A together to test multipoint videochat and audiochat on #Wire, #Jitsi_Meet, #Nextcloud_Talk (whenever I get that one set up). So far, I have one-to-one chats with sonTwo plus his wife and #GS3 almost daily; one-to-one chats with #sonOne plus #GD1 and #GD2 (wife usually appears briefly) every week, and one-to-one chats with Daddy A plus wife, #Little_Boy_A, #Little_Boy_A2, #Little_Girl_A3 about 1-2 times per year. -

#GS3 is walking and starting something similar to running. He’s still unsteady on his feet, so he has a weird leg movement and falls a lot, but he’s soon going to be challenging grandpa to races.
During his time off, #sonTwo is working to finish fencing the yard, so that my grandson and my granddoggy will both be contained in that space. -

Sounds like they have a couple of weeks' worth of diapers and baby wipes. Since #GS3 (age 1) is eating real food, they're going to wean him off baby formula. -

Got to videochat with #GS3 briefly because he was not going to sleep. I don't want to encourage him to throw tantrums when they put him in his crib, but I benefit when I get to see him.
