#GS3 is watching Octonauts: Above and Beyond.
I don’t think I like the show as much as the original.
-
There's a local event on Saturday that #GS3 would enjoy immensely, but due to work schedules, it is unlikely that he'll get to attend.
-
"The end of hurricane season is coming. A big hurricane is about to slam into Japan and more of Mexico, then head to Puerto Rico islands."
#GS3 is playing underneath the bed and talking about these things.
As an aside, he's 3.5 years old and has just recently started to say "hurricane" more often than "wurricane".

#GS3 had a hard day today. Twice, he was playing and missed his signal to go to the potty. He also had a couple of tantrums.
#GS4 has been the one having a rough time most days, because he's only 1.5 and still expects to be mommy's main focus. Well, that and being told to stop creating messes or making them worse when he's in "mess monster" mode. But today, he was better.

Did some family pictures at a local park. Apparently, this is a popular spot. We saw photographers taking couples’ photos, and one that was photographing the deer 🦌 that were crossing the park.
This time, it was grandpa taking the pictures, so I hope they aren’t too awful. Their last photos were done by a professional photographer, but one who did not connect with #GS4, so they were unsatisfied with the photos. I think the hope is that seeing me might help him relax and engage more.
But he wasn’t interested in anything except the moon 🌙 and one person’s dog 🐕, so I don’t know whether this solved any of the issues.
#GS3 noticed that the grass was sort of spongy, so he wanted to jump.
Fun times, but also very tiring.

#sonTwo took me and #GS3 to a barbershop 💈. I think they did a great job.
Afterwards we got lunch at a local burger 🍔 joint. The radio station played #1980s music, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17lkdqoLt44 .
Great day.

We’ve been watching Star Wars: Rebels. #GS3 likes that show more than anything else.
-
#GS3 has conversations with himself in gibberish. This isn’t the Martian language that he used to speak (complete with some sort of sentence structure) but complete gibberish.
It’s cool, except that he sometimes does it when speaking to us, too. Or he mixes it with English.
-
We’re watching PTC-15, which is possibly going to be Tropical Storm #Lisa.
It could even go beyond #TropStorm and become a #Hurricane.
#GS-3 is excited about it.
-
#GS3 discovered some juniper galls on a backyard tree. https://nu.federati.net/url/288275 [www missouribotanicalgarden org]
There are no apples / crabapples / quinces here, so it may be a leave it alone situation.
-
Told #GS3 that I would be leaving soon. He's been my daily sidekick since I arrived. I felt bad when he started to cry.
-
#GS3 and I rescued a praying mantis that would have drowned in a pool of rainwater.
Meanwhile, #GS4 keeps finding dead crickets. He gets really excited about crawling insects, sqealing and pointing and jumping up and down.
-
As hurricane season starts to wind down, #GS3 has discovered “Mr. Weatherman”:{https://www.youtube.com/c/mrweatherman/about}. He has added that to his daily requests for information about “wurricanes”.
-
Today, #GS3 learned about komodo dragons. First, we watched five year old Dillon talking about them. (Highlight: "They eat people.") Then we watched them eating bats, turtles, goats, and other creatures. Then we listened to them hiss at each other.
-
These kids get into everything, and they often report it themselves. Today, #GS3 found an old, leaking can of paint thinner and brought it to me, dripping a trail of flamable liquid hydrocarbons onto the driveway.
Of course, I disposed of it.
-
Still busy being primary caregiver for #GS3 and #GS4. Soon, I will have to leave. I do not know the exact date, as I am attempting to extend my scheduled time off.
And yet, financially, I need to get back to work. The bank account can use some inflows. I also have to proceed with the planned 2nd bank account, as there have been multiple policy changes (and worse, changes to the bank’s website) in a fairly short time period.

#GS3 is a master of stalling at naptime. He is as good as his dad was.
-
Naturally, #GS3 wanted to visit the #earthquake tracking site https://earthquake.usgs.gov/ but it was naptime, so we delayed it until after the nap.
-
@clacke I am still getting used to #GS3 referring to himself by name and 3rd person pronoun. He is 3.5 years old and doesn't use "I" very much, except in "I want ...".

@lnxw48a1 @fu Today, I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85Nu9JBJsKg with #GS3. I’m sure he did not understand it. Lots of blahblah. But I learned things that I will be able to use when he asks questions.
Hopefully, when he is 8-10, even if he has found a different interest, he will retain some of the knowledge he’s gained. I think my son is going to try to set up a way for him to videochat with me after I leave, so he can continue to talk about “wurricanes”.
