I don't have any comments about #SOTU. It's been years since I was able to watch that speech. I just can't watch / listen to #pollies lying to me, while one party's people tell me how wonderful the person is and the other party's people tell me how awful the person is.

@tealturtle I was going to joke that "Vermin Supreme" sounds like my opinion of politicians ( #pollies ), but I threw the name into search and found that he has run for office a few times as part of his protester / performance artist stuff.

I’m trying to see what http://www.mazizone.eu/ is about. Is it about building and supporting local networks and networked services? Or is it more about political stuff? I am wholly in favor of the former, and almost wholly uninterested in the latter, as politics and politicians ( #pollies ) and parties are all about separating people into warring groups, not about benefitting local communities in ways that help to benefit all the people in a locality.

@alpacaherder It usually doesn’t directly affect me, but it gets really #botheracious when I realize that these highly-paid #pollies in DC are failing to do their jobs again and again, yet people keep electing them. We need to rid of the whole crop, whether Democan and Republicrat.

@moonman Dumb move. Politically-focused marketing risks unnecessary loss of customers of opposing viewpoints. Better to stick to one's knitting and let the #pollies have their squabbles.

@shpuld @lain This is taught in US schools and promoted by US #pollies. It is false, of course, but higher education institutions like the vastly expanded number of students and funding, despite the fact that college/university is supposed to be about learning to think for yourself and not about job preparation (we have trade schools for that).
