Picking up Pollo Sesame at Ciudad China in Canovanas, #PR. Hungry tonight.
-
@rysiek It works from #PR.

Yesterday's storm remnants were surprisingly non-tropical. The winds and the rain were pleasantly cool. Today, the sea is calmer (but not back to normal yet), the wind is warm, and the sun is shining. #PR #weather.

K contacted me to tell me that one of $EMPLOYER's offices in #FL released all their Black employees from their assignments this week, but no one else. I don't have any contacts there, so I cannot confirm.
Sad to hear it, though, because this is a federal agency that we're working for. I hadn't encountered much racism inside the agency before I came to #PR, but now that I've experienced it myself, I'm getting alerts from people all over the country.

@brandon Currently in San Juan, #PR, it is 82F/28C, with 79% relative humidity. This was around 07:15.

78°F, with rain. It feels somewhat cooler today than usual at 06:45 in San Juan, #PR, even with 92% relative humidity. #Weather

My stomach is so weird. I've always been able to eat oranges without trouble, but the juice usually causes abdominal pain. I've always been able to both eat grapefruits and drink the juice without issue. Pizza, watermelon, and spaghetti generally cause more pain than other foods (enough that I've avoided them for years).
But recently: I've been drinking orange juice about once per week without trouble. I've been eating oranges without trouble, but today, an orange caused a little pain. I've had #pizza a few times since I arrived in #PR, with only occasional mild pain.

Someone explained why there are no #Target stores in #PR. There is a car rental chain here called Target Rent-A-Car, using the same colors and logo.
.
#Walmart is here, but they're just not as good.

San Juan, #PR, 78F at 09:45 UTC / 05:45 AST (Accuweather "RealFeel" 86F) with no wind.

Lying atop the bed with two fans blowing on me and still sweating. #Too_Hot and #Humid in #PR
-
#PR "Chinese food" has fried plantains and comes with soy sauce, duck sauce, ketchup. Pollo pepper meal is what I ordered. https://nu.federati.net/attachment/172188

Early out because of the weather. So we're sitting in the bus for half an hour instead of sitting in the building for an hour. (Some areas of #PR have flooding due to TD #Isaac.)
-
The first ring of storm-inspired wind and rain is moving across San Juan #PR now.

I’ve had some relatively frank discussions about co-workers about experiences with racism in $EMPLOYER, in the places the agency sends me, and in #PR & and the local offices. Many of the local residents were surprised to hear that this office is the worst I’ve worked in.
.
On the other hand, I was surprised to hear that they occasionally witnessed it here on the island (most people have mixed ancestries). I think we’ve taken the first step forward. This isn’t the manager / public relations “steer manure” that we get spewed at us. This feels a lot more real than that does.
-
Staples of many #PR residents' diet. Maybe you should move here, instead of #AZ, where they eat nopales and snake meat.
-
#Isaac became a #TropStorm overnight. #PR and #USVI still preparing for potential effects.
.
#Hurricane #Florence getting bigger. #NC, #SC have evacuations.
-
Me, almost every night in #PR as I prepare for bed: "It is so hot. How do people live here?"
Also me: lives in !SoCal, in an area where there are triple-digit temperatures least a couple of months each year.
-
#Hurricane #Isaac isn't even expected to directly hit #PR and store shelves are thin on supplies. Bottled water sold out at the 'super' Walmart.
-
If you're in #SC or #NC, get ready. It looks like #Hurricane #Florence is heading right for you (impact around Thursday).
If you're in #PR or #USVI, Hurricane #Isaac is projected to pass to the South Thursday or Friday. There may be some effects felt.

Still hot and sweaty in here. We need a blast of air from the Rockies to blow this hot and steamy air far away.
(Don't mind me, I'm still getting used to the heat and humidity of #PR, even though I've been here almost six months.)
