mastoabed (mastoabed)'s status on Wednesday, 27-Dec-2017 22:11:42 UTC mastoabed Oh, what a lovely presentation about #XMPP/#Jabber
“While there are many reasons for using Jabber instead of WhatsApp or Signal, my personal motivation is that I don’t want a single company to control my communication.
[…]
Or to put this in other words; I don’t want to get in a Twitter-fight with Moxie only to wake up one morning and not being able to use Signal anymore.” -

Mike ? (mike)'s status on Tuesday, 21-Nov-2017 07:32:46 UTC Mike ? Finally got around to doing a quick build of Dino, an in-development #XMPP client, and it's really good so far. Really good UI. Exactly what I've been looking for to recommend as a desktop client.

I suggest (1) look at what domains are blocked; (2) look at what ports are blocked. -

I haven't been comparing the hashes to see whether the "don't trust" is due to a false cert. I just cancel and close the client, then wait a few minutes and reopen Jitsi. ( I would prefer #LEcrypt to Commodo. ) -

#Xabber https://www.xabber.com/ or #Conversations https://conversations.im/ for Android.
Desktops (Windows and Linux), I know of Pidgin http://pidgin.im/ Psi http://psi-im.org/download/ (or even better Psi-Plus http://psi-plus.com/wiki/en:downloads#psi_packages ) and Jitsi Desktop ( https://desktop.jitsi.org/Main/Download ). -
