The part they're probably not saying is that women have difficulty passing a lot of their tests, because lets face it, we're a sexually-dimorphic species.
I prefer it when we all have the same test, though.
First of all, getting special treatment only engenders resentment and conflict between social groups.
Second of all, then it doesn't matter whether you're white or black or asian, male or female or transgender, or whatever. You all passed the test. You're all equal, capable soldiers.

You do not want a military unit in an operational capacity on a sortie, that do not trust each other explicitly and implicity to carry out the mission objectives competently. If I have to worry if Mary Sue can carry my wounded ass back to the barracks or if she'll plug me in the back with her rifle because she shoots with five minute of angle accuracy, then you have a unit with deep problems.
