Daughter-in-law, to my grandson: Were you just throwing a fit?
#GS3: (something that sounds very much like "yes")
At the rate he's going, he'll be taking college classes at age five (for the record, his dad was in college classes somewhere around 12-14)

My youngest grandson (he'll be one in March) just stood without holding on to anything for the first time. #Proud_Grandpa #GS3

Now that I’ve been listening to all this great music from the #1970s (and a few songs from the #1960s and #1980s), I’m going to have to revise the list I sent to #sonTwo of what to play at my memorial service.
(No, I’m not planning for or expecting a departure any time soon. I’m hoping to stick around at least until #GS3 reaches adulthood.)
-
I still have an hour and forty minutes until bedtime, but unless #sonTwo and his wife put #GS3 on videochat, I will try to get to bed early tonight.

My friend and co-worker asked me whether #GS3 is my favorite grandchild yet.
I think I have to admit that he is one of my eight favorite grandchildren. But yes, he's right at the top of the list, along with #GD2. #GD1 is right behind them, only because at age 12, she shows a little less interest in communicating with granddad than she once did. #Little_Boy_A (age 6) is also right behind him, only because his dad doesn't put him on the phone or in our videochats often enough (which is also why I'm not as close to his younger brother and sister ... I just don't get enough contact with them).

#GS3's day: discovered a pantry door that hadn't been closed. Goes in there, peeks out to see if his parents saw him, then "Oh, no! I've been caught!" expression when #sonTwo gets up to retrieve him. Very funny.

Parents of a sleepy baby ( #sonTwo and his wife ) called late (after 22:00 CST). #GS3 tried to give me his pacifier (stuck it right up to the tablet screen) and hairbrush (same).
-
Informed that #GD1's surgery is postponed because the co-pay is $7,000. I was surprised, because I thought #sonOne's health insurance was better than #sonTwo's, but when the younger kid's son #GS3 had the same surgery, it only cost $300 out of pocket.

I'm waiting to find out whether there will be a #GS3 #sleepytime call tonight. If not, I think I'll shower and head to bed soon.
-
Waiting to see whether I'm getting a good night call from #GS3 before I head to bed myself. For some reason, it feels cold in here, even though it is 62F / 17C.

@guizzy I discussed a similar idea with my daughter-in-law last night. It turns out #GS3 (about 9.5 months old) only got three gifts (a set of blocks, a stuffed animal, and a three-pack of Dr Seuss books), but if he'd had more, she agreed to put them on a closet shelf for a month or two.

Opened my presents tonight during tonight's videochat with #sonTwo and his wife and son, consisting of a photo album filled with photos of #GS3, some refrigerator magnets (also with his picture), and a hoodie.
Realized that my grandson is not the only one celebrating his first Christmas. One of my sisters also has a grandchild celebrating her first Christmas.
-
My shipment from #sonTwo and his wife arrived. It contains Fathers' Day, birthday, and Christmas presents, so I haven't opened it, even though 2/3 of the contents are for past events.
Cleverly, the listed sender is #GS3, not either parent.

This year:
1. A cousin's 10 year old grandson drowned.
2. Another cousin's son died of sickle cell complications.
3. A third cousin lost her seven or eight year battle with cancer.
Also:
4. My grandson #GS3 was born.
5. My nephew #Papaya became a father.

When my buddy Mark called, I was in the process* of going to bed. Almost two hours later, we got off the phone.
* Or more accurately, waiting for #GS3’s good night call. He’s off his sleep schedule, so I’ve received calls as early as 19:00 and as late as 22:00 CST.

Now that I've had a little time to see them in action, I'm not a fan of the installable services on the #NAS. For example, If I upload a photo of #GS3 (to "/photo" AKA the photos folder) I don't necessarily want to share it with everyone in the house. I should have to intentionally select "share", otherwise, it should be handled in a more private-ish manner. I think #Synology made some bad decisions.

#GS3 had a long day. He went to Washington and Cuba (towns in #Missouri) but no politicians came to negotiate. So now he’s tired and grumpy.

I missed my grandson's bedtime call, but I did see a video of #GS3 saying good night.

#GS3 (about nine months old) went to a bookstore for the first time. He grabbed a book off the shelf. The book was “Cryptography Apocalypse”. It is almost like having a little clone of myself.
